Why did you choose to attend Connecticut College?
I chose Conn. College because of its strength in both athletics and academics. I also chose it for the proximity to the water and the surrounding area of New London. Another reason for choosing Conn was the appeal to our women’s lacrosse program and the fact that the coaching staff and team as a whole were committed to improving the program which instantly made me want to be a part of it.

Why did you choose to be a Division III student-athlete?
I chose to be a Division III student athlete because I believe it offers the best of both worlds. As student athletes, we have the ability to play in a high level conference while also getting the opportunity to explore a rigorous academic curriculum in the off season.

What is the best thing about being part of the NESCAC?
I think the best thing about being a part of the NESCAC would have to be the strength of the competition. You can go into any game not knowing the exact outcome but expecting great talent, which definitely adds to the excitement of playing in this conference.

You have a blank canvas, paint your perfect day. What does it look like?
My perfect day would start with a long walk along Duxbury Beach and then grabbing a green juice as well as a cold brew. Then I would make a sandwich for the beach and be there for 11 am on the dot with my mom. Then we would spend all day at the beach. Immediately post beach, we would head to Blakemans Restaurant (where I waitress) for some oysters. Finally, I would head home to grill steak with my family and finish the night with some smores by the fire pit.

What is your dream job/career?
My dream job would be to be something in the healthcare industry for a few years to then be able to open my own practice.

What extracurricular activities or service activities do you participate in?
Outside of lacrosse, I am the Vice President of Connecticut College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Vice President of Caring Camels and a One Love Facilitator.

I have been a part of our SAAC since my sophomore year. I help to communicate the concerns of student athletes and facilitate the initiatives of our athletes and campus into motion. In my position at Caring Camels, we go to a program at a local school called the Transition Academy. Our club’s mission is to promote relationships between students with and without disabilities. We strive to create inclusivity. Finally as a one love facilitator, I help promote the importance of learning about how to love better in every relationship while also stating the importance of One Love’s message as it is extremely important to the lacrosse community.

Looking back on your college years, what are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my team for our hardwork, our resilience and the family we have created throughout the years.

Is there anything special about your uniform number?
I wear #6. It is special because my brother was a junior in college playing lacrosse and he had the same number. We thought we would make life a little easier for mom and dad if we had the same number.

What’s your go-to warmup song?
Remember by Becky Hill and David Guetta.

What is something you enjoy doing that you never get tired of?
I really love going to Starbucks with my roommate Elizabeth, I could never get tired of it.

What has been your favorite class?
My favorite class at Conn has been Cognitive Neuroscience with Professor Moher. Professor Moher is extremely passionate about the subject and his enthusiasm is infectious. His enthusiasm made the class increasingly engaging, sparking many questions or hypotheticals in relation to how the brain works.

Who is your favorite professor?
Professor Marshall is my favorite professor because she is both my major/minor advisor as well our women’s lacrosse team liaison. She is currently my independent study professor as well. Professor Mashall is always so engaged in our research and discussions which makes for a very enjoyable learning experience.

What internships/research projects have you participated in?
I interned last summer at Boston University’s Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. I learned all about holistic psychology rehabilitation and various Dialectical Behavioral Skills. It was a fantastic experience and I look forward to using some of the skills that I learned in my future career.

What has been the most interesting part of your major?
The most interesting part of my major is the cross between psychology and various sciences like biology or chemistry.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned from being a student-athlete?
The greatest lesson I have learned from being a student-athlete has been how lucky we are to be in high pressure situations. We are very privileged as student-athletes, specifically in the NESCAC, to have such a great opportunity of competing at a high athletic level while also being challenged at the academic level. The opportunity we get every day to show up, do what we love, and experience the big moments make being a student athlete all worth it.

What is your favorite place on your campus?
The first floor of Shain Library is my favorite place on campus because it is where I see my teammates the most outside of season, which is something I look forward to every day.

Who has been the most influential person to you during your time in college?
The most influential person during my time in college has been my older brother Seamus. He played lacrosse in the NESCAC and then went on to do a fifth year at Salisbury so he knows what it means to compete at a high level while also being successful at it. He is one of the hardest working people I know and he is always there to give me a pep talk and encourage me as a person and a player. He is the type of person who you look up to and want to emulate which has been something important during my college career.

What is something interesting about you that others might not know?
I used to throw shot put in high school.

What is something you enjoy doing when not in class or competing in your sport?
Cooking with my roommates. It is always a blast and we love doing family dinners all together.
