NESCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week
Charlotte Michener – Colby – So. – M – Fairfield, Conn.
Michener matched her career high, scoring four of Colby’s six goals in the Mules’ double-overtime victory against Hamilton.  The midfielder scored in each of the first three quarters and netted the game-winner off the first possession of the second overtime.

Amherst – Caroline Curtis (Winchester, Mass.) scored six goals in two games as the Mammoths defeated Claremont Mudd Scripps, 21-9, and Pomona Pitzer, 11-7. The sophomore was the difference maker in the four-goal win over Pomona, scoring a career-high four goals. The midfielder helped Amherst rally from a 7-5 deficit, scoring twice in a 6-0 Amherst run, including the game-winning goal with 8:17 remaining in the fourth quarter. Curtis added two draw controls and a groundball in the win. She also scored twice in the win over CMS, adding two groundballs, two caused turnovers, and a draw control.

Bates – Senior Clare McGeever (Berlin, Conn.) recorded two ground balls, caused two turnovers, and scored her third goal of the season against defending NCAA Division III champion and No. 1-ranked Middlebury. The Bobcats fell 11-8, the smallest margin of victory for the Panthers this season, and the most goals by Middlebury this year.

Bowdoin – Junior Grace Harvey (North Ferrisburgh, Vt.) posted eight draws in a midweek win against Montclair before recording a season-high 11, to go with four caused turnovers, on Saturday against Wesleyan.
 
Conn. College - Junior goalie Ava Virga (Watertown, N.Y.) started both games in the cage last week, tallying 20 saves along with a ground ball. Virga started the week with six saves against No. 11 Denison and made a career-high 14 stops against No. 23 Williams, including seven in the first quarter.

Hamilton – Eliza Schwarz (New York, N.Y.) posted a .613 save percentage and 4.62 goals against average in a 2-1 week for the Continentals. Schwarz made 11 saves in a 6-5 setback in double overtime against Colby. The junior stopped two shots in the first half of a 12-1 win against Framingham State and turned away six shots in a 10-6 victory against Westfield State. Schwarz has recorded double-digit saves in three of four NESCAC games this season.

Middlebury – Junior Lucy Bishop (Seattle, Wash.) led top-ranked Middlebury to an 11-8 win over Bates in the lone game of the week for the Panthers. The defender registered a career-high four caused turnovers and scooped up three ground balls to go with nine draw controls. Bishop moved into eighth place among Middlebury’s all-time leaders in draw controls (175).

Trinity – Senior Grace Denious (Darien, Conn.) logged seven points on five goals and two assists for the Bantams last week. Denious tallied three goals and an assist in an overtime loss at York and added two goals and an assist against Tufts.

Tufts - Senior attack Allie Zorn (Bedford, Mass.) had a strong week for the No. 3 Jumbos, as Tufts knocked off three ranked opponents to go 3-0 with Zorn posting a total of 13 points (8G, 5A) and four ground balls for the week. At No. 7 Gettysburg, Zorn finished with five points on two goals and three assists in a 16-12 win and added four goals and an assist in a 15-5 victory over Trinity. In a 20-1 win over No. 22 Colorado College, Zorn played only the first half but still tallied two goals and an assist. 

WesleyanLindsey Diomede (Westwood, Mass.) continues to produce in the midfield role for the Cardinals, who are off to their best start in team history at 6-0 on the season. Diomede started the week with a season-high three points (1G, 2A) to go along with two draw controls in an 18-7 win at Endicott. At Bowdoin, the senior totaled six ground balls, five caused turnovers, three draw controls, and two goals to lead the Cardinals past the Polar Bears in a 14-9 win. The six ground balls are a career-high total for the senior midfielder.

Williams – Franny Donohue (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) scored 10 goals with four assists in a 2-0 week for the Ephs. The senior tied a career-high eight points with four goals (on four shots) and four assists in a 20-6 victory over the University of Southern Maine. Donohue followed up with a season-high six goals in a 14-8 NESCAC victory at Connecticut College.
