Four NESCAC teams advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals and the student-athletes from NESCAC institutions won two NCAA titles last week.

NCAA Men’s Basketball | Bracket
Trinity (28-2), the defending NCAA Champion, returns to the Elite 8 for the second straight year and fourth time in team history after an 88-71 win over Hood College at Oosting Gymnasium.
Tufts (23-5) defeated Wesleyan, 75-61, at Silloway Gymnasium to advance to the Elite 8 round for just the second time in program history.
The squads split both meetings this season, with Tufts taking a 68-62 regular season win and the Bantams knocking off the Jumbos, 80-70, in the NESCAC Tournament Championship Game en route to Trinity’s third consecutive conference title.
A NESCAC team is guaranteed a spot in the Final Four for the second straight season as the Bantams and Jumbos will square off in the Elite 8 game at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m.
The NESCAC has two teams in the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second straight year and since 2016, the conference has had at least one team in the NCAA Quarterfinals in all but three seasons (2018, 2022, 2023).
The Final Four games are set for Saturday, March 21, in Fort Wayne, and the two semifinal winners will play in the national championship game on April 5 at Gainbridge Financial Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
NCAA Women’s Basketball | Bracket
Bates bowed out of the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet 16 round with a 76-59 loss to No. 2-ranked and unbeaten Scranton (31-0). The Bobcats finished their season with a 26-4 record, the most wins in team history, and the program’s second NESCAC title.
NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey | Bracket
Hamilton hosted an NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey game first time in program history and posted a 6-2 win over Neumann at Sage Rink. The No. 6-ranked Continentals host No. 12 Norwich (19-5-4) in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m. Hamilton (20-5-2) has reached the quarterfinals for the second straight season.
Williams fell to Utica, 3-0, in the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2015-16 campaign.
NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey | Bracket
Amherst and Williams earned first-round wins in overtime to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Amherst defeated Saint Benedict, 2-1, at Orr Rink. Senior Gretchen Dann scored the game-winner 2:36 into the extra period to propel the Mammoths to the quarterfinals for the fourth year in a row. No. 3-ranked Amherst (20-2-6) will host No. 15 Elmira (19-5-2) in the quarterfinal contest on Saturday, March 21 at 3 p.m.
Williams defeated Plattsburgh State, 2-1, at Lansing Chapman Rink. Savanna Littlewood propelled the Ephs to the quarterfinals with the game-winning goal 3:18 into overtime. The victory marked just the second NCAA win for Williams in program history, and the No.9-ranked Ephs are making their third appearance in the quarterfinals when they travel to two-time defending champ and top-ranked UW-River Falls for a quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 21 at 4 p.m. (ET).

The NESCAC will send 105 athletes to the NCAA Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship Meet hosted by IU Indianapolis March 18 through March 21.

NCAA Indoor Track & Field | Results
Tufts sophomore Elysse Cumberland won her second straight NCAA Indoor Track & Field title in the triple jump last weekend at the Birmingham Crossplex. Cumberland won the event with a leap of 12.54m (41'1 ¾") on her first attempt in the finals.
The Williams women’s indoor track & field squad posted a stellar performance at the NCAA Championships to finish as the National Runners-Up. The Ephs totaled 44 points, 10 behind champion Washington University St. Louis. The NESCAC boasted two top-10 finishes with Williams (2nd) and Tufts (9th).
NESCAC athletes combined for 69 All-America citations at the meet.
NCAA Wrestling
Williams senior Pater Kane won the 157-pound weight class at the NCAA Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, helping the Ephs to their best-ever finish at the National Championship meet, ninth place. Kane, just the second four-time All-American in Williams wrestling history, capped his career as the program’s first-ever individual national champion.

Middlebury finished seventh overall to lead the NESCAC institutions competing at the NCAA Ski Championships in Park City, Utah. Seven athletes from NESCAC teams garners All-America honors.
