Three NESCAC Institutions Rank Among Top 10 in Learfield Directors' Cup Winter Standings

CLEVELAND – The NESCAC boasts three institutions ranked among the top 10 in the Learfield Directors' Cup Division III Winter Standings and all 11 NESCAC schools were ranked in the latest standings.

Overall 11 NESCAC teams were selected for NCAA Tournaments in men's and women's basketball and men's and women's ice hockey. Hamilton won the NCAA Division III title in men's ice hockey and Amherst women's ice hockey reached the national semifinals to highlight the conference accomplishments in those NCAA Championships.

The conference sent 105 student-athletes to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships where NESCAC athletes won three national titles - men's 400 medley relay (Bates), men's 100 breaststroke (Marrich Somridhivej, Bates),and men's 200 breaststroke (Carrick Shea, Conn. College) - and earned a combined 46 podium finishes at the NCAA Championships.

NYU leads all Division III schools with 812.25 points. Williams (2nd - 811.00 pts), Tufts (5th - 739.75 pts), and Amherst (8th - 590.50 pts) are the NESCAC institutions in the Top 10.

Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
