NESCAC 2025-26 Winter All-Academic Team Released

HADLEY, Mass. – Over 1,500 student-athletes have been named to the 2026 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution. Lists of All-Academic honorees are provided by the athletic departments at each institution. The cumulative GPA on record as of the end of the Fall 2025 semester was used to determine eligibility for the honor.

Of the student-athletes to garner NESCAC All-Academic honors this winter, 111 earned both All-Academic and All-NESCAC accolades and 56 individuals were named to both the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams. 

Six student-athletes garnered All-NESCAC or an individual award, and were also named to the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic teams:
  • Annie McCarthy, Amherst women’s basketball
  • Dennie Welte, Bates men’s squash
  • Fotis Zafiriou, Bowdoin men’s squash
  • Lindsay Burnham, Middlebury women’s squash
  • Spencer Korona, Trinity men’s ice hockey
  • Quinci Wheeler, Tufts women’s swimming & diving
The 2026 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team includes the following major award winners:
  • Men’s Basketball Player of the Year: Scott Gyimesi, Tufts
  • Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Year: Luke Tchor, Hamilton
  • Men’s Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Year: Jacob Osborne, Bowdoin 
  • Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Year: Erin Pye, Williams
  • Women’s Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Year: Gretchen Dann, Amherst
  • Women’s Squash Player of the Year: Kara Lincou, Trinity
  • Men’s Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Year: Marrich Somridhivej, Bates
  • Men’s Swimming & Diving Diver of the Year: Haochen Liu, Williams
  • Men’s Swimming & Diving Career High-Point Swimmer: Max Cory, Bates
  • Men’s Swimming & Diving Career High-Point Diver: Owen White, Middlebury
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Year: Madeleine Dunn, Tufts
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving Co-Diver of the Year: Donna Zhang, Amherst
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving Career High-Point Swimmer: Madeleine Dunn, Tufts
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving Career High-Point Diver: Malia Leung, Tufts
