The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week of November 18. The conference recognizes student-athletes for each sport based on their contributions to their team each week. This week's release includes the final Volleyball Player of the Week, and the first Player of the Week selections for men's and women's basketball and men's and women's ice hockey.
Men's Basketball | Weekly Release & Honor Roll
Scott Gyimesi – Tufts – Jr. – F – Fair Haven, N.J.
Gyimesi picked up right where he left off last season with two strong performances in a 2-0 week for Tufts. For the week, he averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists while shooting 68.2 percent from the floor in wins over Bridgewater State and Emerson. In a win over BSU, he was 4-of-8 from the floor, adding nine rebounds and nine assists. Sunday against Emerson, Gyimesi shot 11-for-14 for 23 points, adding 11 rebounds, and a steal. 
 
Women's Basketball | Weekly Release & Honor Roll
Sarah Hughes – Bates – So. – G – Rumson, N.J.
Hughes averaged 22.0 points per game while shooting 65.2 percent from the floor, including a 6-for-8 from 3-point range, and chipped in 5.0 rebounds per contest in two wins for the Bobcats to open the season. The sophomore dropped a career-high 25 points on 8-for-12 shooting in Friday's 77-54 win over Husson. Hughes followed up with a team-high 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting in a 73-67 win over Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday. 
Men's Ice Hockey | Weekly Release & Honor Roll
Andrew Heinze – Middlebury – So. - GK – North Andover, Mass.
Heinze was sensational in goal this weekend, helping Middlebury to a pair of NESCAC wins. The goalie posted 18 saves, including seven in the third period on Friday to earn his first career shutout against Bowdoin. Heinze followed that up with a career-high 39 stops in a 3-1 win over Colby in a game where the Panthers were outshot 40-18. The sophomore leads the NESCAC with a 0.50 goals against average following the pair of victories in the crease.
Women's Ice Hockey | Weekly Release & Honor Roll
Ayla Abban - Amherst - Fy. - F - Duxbury, Mass.
Abban scored three goals in the first two games of her collegiate career. In a season-opening 3-0 win over Williams, the rookie scored the first two goals of the game, including a shorthanded tally, and was credited with the game-winning goal. In a 6-2 win over the Ephs, she scored the first goal of the game to give Amherst a 1-0 lead. 
Volleyball
Gabbie O’Toole - Middlebury - Sr. - S - Overland Park, Kan.
O’Toole helped propel Middlebury to its sixth NESCAC Championship, including a thrilling five-set upset over top-seeded Colby to claim the title. O’Toole averaged 9.88 assists per set over the weekend, including 41 during Friday’s semifinal match which was the 100th in her career. With 38 helpers on Saturday, the Panther moved into seventh place in Middlebury’s record books with 955 on the year. O’Toole is currently second all-time with 3,425 assists which ranks fourth among all seniors in Division III. The senior also moved into a tie for third place in the Panther records with 146 service aces.
