The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week ending September 6. The conference recognizes student-athletes for each sport based on their contributions to their team each week, based on information provided by the athletic communications offices on each campus. During the fall season, football, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Mondays, while cross country runners of the week and golfers of the week will be announced on Tuesdays when selected.

NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Caroline Busler – Amherst – Jr. – F – Greenwich, Conn.
Busler played a role in both Mammoth goals in a season-opening conference win over Conn. College last week. Busler scored the first goal of the game, which proved to be the eventual game-winning goal, with 5:41 left in the second quarter. In the final minute, the junior intercepted a Camel clearing pass and pushed the ball to teammate Chloe Agopian (Pawling, N.Y.), who scored an insurance goal on an empty net. 

NESCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Marco Perugini – Conn. College – Sr. – M – Medway, Mass.
Perugini led Conn. College to a season-opening 3-1 at Amherst, tallying three points. Perugini set up the opening goal, delivering a free kick into the box that found its way to senior Charlie Miles (Tarrytown, N.Y.) to give the Camels a 1-0 lead. Late in the second half, the Camels were awarded a penalty. Perugini stepped up and slotted the ball home to extend the Conn. College's lead to 3-0. The win was the Camels' first in Amherst since 2011.

NESCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Morgan Lovell – Conn. College – Fy. – M – Franklin, Mass.
In her collegiate debut, Lovell led Conn. College to a 4-3 comeback win at No. 22 Amherst. The newcomer led the way with five points on two goals and one assist. Lovell opened the scoring midway through the first half, finishing off a cross from fellow rookie Danica Zicha (Belmont, Mass.). With the Camels trailing 3-1 in the second half, Lovell sparked the comeback. Lovell returned the favor to Zicha, assisting on Zicha's first career goal to make it 3-2. Just 25 seconds later, Lovell evened the score at 3-3. The Camels added the game-winner in the 74th minute. The victory was Conn. College's first over Amherst since 2019.

NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Siena Steines – Wesleyan – Jr. – OH – Hinsdale, Ill.
Steines earned Heron Invitational MVP honors at William Smith last weekend, leading Wesleyan to a 3-0 record. Steines totaled 30 kills with just three attack errors on 56 swings, giving her a .482 attack percentage over the three matches combined. The junior opened with seven kills, hitting .500 in a three-set sweep of Oswego State before finishing with nine kills and no attack errors (.643 attack percentage) in another sweep of SUNY Geneseo. Steines closed out the weekend with a team-high 14 kills, hitting .400 in a five-set win over William Smith.
