NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
Caroline Busler – Amherst – Jr. – F – Greenwich, Conn.
Amherst – Caroline Busler (Greenwich, Conn.) played a role in both Mammoth goals in a season-opening conference win over Conn. College last week. Busler scored the first goal of the game, which proved to be the eventual game-winning goal, with 5:41 left in the second quarter. In the final minute, the junior intercepted a Camel clearing pass and pushed the ball to teammate Chloe Agopian (Pawling, N.Y.), who scored an insurance goal on an empty net. 
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Bates – Senior Haley Dwight (West Newbury, Mass.) made a pair of defensive saves in the Bobcats’ season opener at Williams, giving her 28 in her career.
 
Bowdoin – The Polar Bears travel to the University of New England for the season opener on Monday, September 7.
 
Colby – The Mules start the 2026 campaign hosting Husson on Tuesday, September 8.
 
Conn. College – Isabella Carnall (Malvern, Pa.) made eight saves and surrendered just one goal against No. 19 Amherst in a 2-0 setback. The sophomore kept the Camels within striking distance until the final minute of the contest, when the Mammoths scored an empty-net goal to secure the victory. 
 
Hamilton – The Continentals begin the season on Tuesday, September 8, hosting RPI.
 
Middlebury – Junior Emma McCann (Needham, Mass.) distributed four assists to help lead the Panthers to an 8-0 victory over Union (NY) in the squad’s season opener. McCann’s four helpers tied the single-game record set by Catherine Fowler on October 9, 2012 and are the most by a NESCAC player since 2023. Her performance helped extend Middlebury’s opening weekend win streak to 14 in a row.
 
Trinity – Junior Riley Harrington (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored the Bantams’ lone goal against defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Tufts in a 5-1 season-opening loss. Harrington ruined Tufts goalkeeper Isabel Ginns’ shutout with her goal in the final four minutes of the contest.
 
Tufts – Eleanor Helm (Loudonville, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals as Tufts opened its season with a 5-1 NESCAC victory over Trinity. On both goals, she stick-handled through the Bantam defense to score. The sophomore’s first goal put Tufts up 1-0 three minutes into the game. With Tufts leading 2-0 at the half, Helm scored five minutes into the third quarter to make the margin 3-0 as the Jumbos pulled away.
 
Wesleyan – The Cardinals’ season-opener is slated for Wednesday, September 9 at WPI.
 
Williams – Senior forward Haley McAuslin (Cumberland, Maine) scored her second career game-winning goal as No. 11 Williams defeated No. 5 Bates, 2-0, in the season opener for both teams on Sunday. McAuslin buried a turnaround shot into the bottom right corner with 8:55 left in the third quarter, giving the Ephs a 1-0 lead.
