NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Morgan Lovell – Conn. College – Fy. – M – Franklin, Mass.
In her collegiate debut, Lovell led Conn. College to a 4-3 comeback win at No. 22 Amherst. The newcomer led the way with five points on two goals and one assist. Lovell opened the scoring midway through the first half, finishing off a cross from fellow rookie Danica Zicha (Belmont, Mass.). With the Camels trailing 3-1 in the second half, Lovell sparked the comeback. Lovell returned the favor to Zicha, assisting on Zicha’s first career goal to make it 3-2. Just 25 seconds later, Lovell evened the score at 3-3. The Camels added the game-winner in the 74th minute. The victory was Conn. College’s first over Amherst since 2019.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior Jessica Lomo (Accra, Ghana) scored twice as the Mammoths built a 3-1 lead by the half versus Conn. College in the 2026 season opener. The Camels would come back to win 4-3.
 
Bates – In just her second collegiate start, sophomore Brady Jacobson (Weston, Mass.) recorded seven saves for a save percentage of .875 at Williams in a 1-0 setback.
 
Bowdoin – Senior goaltender Ilana Posner (Cross River, N.Y.) made nine saves in her first career start Friday night against Colby.
 
Colby – Abigail Jarvi (Gilford, N.H.) netted Colby's first goal of the 2026 campaign to lead the Mules to a 1-0 opening night win over Bowdoin. Tallying 11 goals in each of the last two seasons, Jarvi's tally 10 minutes into the second half broke the scoreless game and was the 26th tally of her career. The Mules outshot the Polar Bears 23-3 in the contest.
 
Hamilton – Haley Cramer (West Granby, Conn.) scored in the 32nd minute and added two assists in the Continentals' 7-0 win against Oswego State in Hamilton's lone match of the week. The multi-assist performance was Cramer's first, and it was the second time the junior posted four points against the Lakers.
 
Middlebury – Sophomore Mariana Rode (Fairfax, Calif.) scored the Panthers’ first goal of the season at Wesleyan.
 
Trinity – Sophomore Makena Hammond (Brookline, Mass.) helped power the Bantams offense to a 6-0 season-opening victory over the University of Saint Joseph (CT). In the 11th minute, Hammond tucked home a goal-line feed from sophomore Addie Covey (Sausalito, Calif.) to extend the Trinity lead to 2-0 and potted another goal in the 56th minute to propel the Bantams to a decisive win.
 
Tufts – Emily Nicholas (Avon, Conn.) found the back of the net twice and saw 74 minutes of action in a 5-1 win at No. 5 Messiah in the season opener for Tufts. It was the senior’s third career multi-goal contest.
 
Wesleyan – Maria Utz (Atlanta, Ga.) scored three goals in two wins for the Cardinals as Wesleyan toppled No. 9 Middlebury in a 4-1 home win on Saturday before traveling to Clark where the Cardinals secured a 4-3 victory on Sunday. Utz scored twice in the 4-1 win over the Panthers in what was the largest Wesleyan win over Middlebury in 44 all-time meetings. Utz added another goal to her weekend total against Clark, giving the senior three goals to lead the NESCAC through the opening weekend of the season. 
 
Williams – Senior captain and forward Bria Abbiati (Newton, Mass.) scored the lone goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Bates. Abbiati buried her third career game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to lead No. 10 Williams past the Bobcats.
