The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week ending on April 19. The conference recognizes student-athletes in each sport each week for their contributions to their teams, based on information provided by the athletic communications offices on each campus. During the spring season, baseball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and softball players of the week will be announced on Mondays. On select Tuesdays, track & field performers of the week will be announced.
NESCAC Baseball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Luis Saldivia – Trinity – Jr. – SS – Princeton Junction, N.J.
Saldivia paced Trinity at the plate in a perfect 4-0 week for the Bantams, including a three-game sweep of Colby to grab sole possession of the top of the NESCAC East Division. Saldivia posted a 1.434 OPS with a .625 batting average, tallying 10 hits, including two doubles, with four RBIs, three runs scored, and four stolen bases. He also played the field cleanly with no errors in 26 chances in the infield. The junior went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over Nichols, followed by another two-hit performance in a series-opening win over Colby. Saldivia went 5-for-8 with two RBIs and two runs scored across a doubleheader sweep of the Mules.
NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Chase Zidlicky – Middlebury – Fy. – Riverside, Ill.
In his lone appearance of the week, Zidlicky pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just three baserunners and striking out eight over seven innings of work as the Panthers cruised to an 8-0 victory to begin Saturday’s doubleheader at Wesleyan. The rookie’s eight strikeouts are tied for the most in a single conference game this season and set a new career-high. Zidlicky’s seven innings on the bump are the most by a Panther pitcher this season.
NESCAC Softball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Isabel Bettencourt – Bates – Jr. – C – Peabody, Mass.
Bettencourt smashed four home runs and hit .438 at the plate while slugging a 1.188 last week. In a sweep of Wesleyan, the junior went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored. In the opener versus the Cardinals and Bates trailing 1-0, Bettencourt’s two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth put the Bobcats in front for a final score of 2-1 victory. Bettencourt also went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in a win over Hamilton. With the Bobcats trailing 5-0, Bettencourt’s three-run homer sparked Bates to score seven times over three consecutive innings en route to an 8-7 victory. The catcher’s six long balls on the season are three shy of the Bates record.
NESCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Sharlotte Stazinski – Colby – Fy. – Walpole, Mass.
Stazinski earned wins over Middlebury and Williams last weekend to move the Mules into sole possession of first place in the NESCAC standings. The first-year threw 6.2 innings against the Panthers in a 2-1 victory and 7.0 innings in a 5-2 victory against the Ephs. Stazinski allowed one earned run each game, improving her ERA to 1.43 on the season with a 9-2 record.
NESCAC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Jack Regnery – Tufts – Sr. – A – Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Regnery helped Tufts extend its win streak to 42 with wins over No. 5 Babson (17-8) and Hamilton (18-10). Regnery finished the two games with 10 goals and five assists, adding six ground balls in the pair of wins. Tuesday in a road win against Babson, Regnery scored four goals and dished out two helpers. Hours later, he was drafted in the fourth round of the PLL Draft at Pick 20 by the Boston Cannons. On Saturday, Regnery tallied a season-high nine points on six goals and three assists in another road win at Hamilton. Regnery has 41 goals and 30 assists on the season.
NESCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Izzy Weintraub – Wesleyan – Sr. – G – Oceanside, N.Y.
Weintraub matched her career-high with 12 saves while allowing just three goals for a .800 save percentage as the Cardinals defeated Williams 11-3 to secure the 2026 Little Three Championship. Weintraub and the Cardinal defense held Williams scoreless for two full quarters and 43+ consecutive minutes, making seven straight saves in the process. Wesleyan held Williams to its lowest goal total of the season and in the 51 all-time meetings in the series. Weintraub added two ground balls and has a .500 save percentage in four of the last five games.
