The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week of April 7. The conference recognizes student-athletes for each sport based on their contributions to their team each week. This week's release includes the Player of the Week selections for baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse.
Baseball | Weekly Release
Player of the Week
Henry Juan – Williams – Sr. – C – Big Flats, N.Y.
Juan hit .500 with a .875 slugging percentage, recorded seven RBI, and scored four runs while knocking out three doubles and one home run in a 4-0 week for the Ephs. The senior went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, one home run, one double, and one walk in a 16-5 seven-inning victory at Bard. Juan hit .467 in a series sweep of Hamilton with three RBI, two extra-base hits, and caught three runners stealing. The catcher scored the game-winning run in a 3-2 win over the Continentals in Game 1 of the series.
Pitcher of the Week
Jacob Lapp – Tufts – Sr. – P – Andover, Mass.
In the series-deciding game of a doubleheader versus Amherst, Lapp pitched a one-hit, complete nine-inning game. He struck out four Mammoth batters while retiring 23 straight to end the game and lift the Jumbos to a 4-1 victory to clinch the series. The senior also recorded four putouts and an assist, setting season highs.

Player of the Week
Olivia Scholes – Middlebury – So. – OF/UT – Toronto, Ontario
Scholes led the Panthers to a 3-1 NESCAC weekend. The sophomore averaged .588 at the plate, recording 10 hits and eight RBI. Scholes belted two doubles, a triple, and a homer while scoring twice over the four games. The sophomore went 5-for-9 with six RBI in the doubleheader sweep against Bowdoin. Scholes also finished the week with one putout, nine assists on defense.
Pitcher of the Week
Sadie Leonard – Williams – Jr. – P – Tiburon, Calif.
Leonard went 3-0 in the circle last week for the No. 13-ranked Ephs. Leonard threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 1-0 win during Game 1 of a doubleheader Friday against Bates. The junior also pitched a complete game, striking out 16 batters in a 2-1 win at La Verne on Monday. Leonard also earned the win in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Bowdoin Saturday, throwing six innings and striking out 14.
Men's Lacrosse | Weekly Release
Garrett Kelly – Tufts – Jr. – M – Atlanta, Ga.
Kelly helped the Jumbos earn a pair of wins over Williams and No. 10 Wesleyan. Kelly finished the week with seven goals, including an overtime game-winner on Saturday at Wesleyan, which completed a hat trick. Kelly started the week with four goals on six shots against Williams, adding three ground balls and a caused turnover. The midfielder scored three goals at Wesleyan, including the game-winner 2:30 into overtime to help Tufts stay unbeaten (10-0, 6-0 NESCAC).
Women's Lacrosse | Weekly Release
Emily Petersen – Amherst – Jr. – A – Mountain Lakes, N.J.
Petersen
scored six goals in two games as the 12th-ranked Mammoths won the Little Three Championship with victories over No. 6 Wesleyan and No. 24 Williams. Petersen scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's triple-overtime win over Wesleyan, including the game-tying goal with one second remaining in the fourth quarter to force overtime. The junior followed that up with four goals, including a game-tying goal to end the third quarter and the game-winner in the fourth, in Amherst's 11-8 win over Williams. Petersen also won four draw controls and picked up two ground balls for the week.
