The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week ending on December 8. The conference recognizes student-athletes in each sport each week for their contributions to their teams, based on information provided by the athletic communications offices on each campus. During the winter season, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's ice hockey players of the week will be announced on Mondays. NESCAC men's and women's swimming & diving athletes of the week will be announced on select Tuesdays.
NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Jarrel Okorougo – Trinity – Sr. – F – Stoneham, Mass.
Okorougo achieved a pair of career milestones in a 2-0 week for the top-ranked Bantams, averaging 23.0 points, 3.0 steals, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 72.4 percent (21-of-24) from the floor. With 19 points in a victory over Saint Joseph (CT), Okorougo became the 33rd player in program history to reach the 1,000 career point milestone, while adding a season-high five steals, three assists, and two rebounds. The senior followed with a career-high 27 points in just 23 minutes of action, connecting on a career-best 12-of-15 from the field, with two rebounds and a steal in a decisive 77-44 victory over Babson.
NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Grace Kinum – Bowdoin – So. – G – New Providence, N.J.
In wins over Bates and Colby, Kinum stuffed the stat sheet, averaging 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks. In a double-overtime win at Bates, the guard scored a career high 26 points with 10 rebounds and four steals. In a defensive battle versus Colby, the sophomore finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and three steals.
NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Co-Players of the Week | Weekly Release
Jayson Alegria – Bowdoin – Fy. - F – New Rochelle, N.Y.
Alegria led the Polar Bears in a pair of road games at Conn. College and Tufts to keep the Polar Bears unbeaten in NESCAC play. Down 2-1 in the third period at Conn. College, Alegria scored the game-tying goal, unassisted, in the third period to force a 2-2 tie. Against Tufts, the rookie broke a 1-1 deadlock with a goal in the final seconds of the opening period and followed up by assisting on the game-winner with under seven minutes to play in the third period to secure a 3-2 victory. For the weekend, Alegria’s two goals and assist all came on game-tying and game-winning scores.
Jack McManus – Williams – So. – F – Winthrop, Mass.
McManus recorded three goals and two assists in a 1-1-0 weekend. The sophomore scored two goals 59 seconds apart in the third period, while also recording an assist in the first period, in a 4-3 overtime setback to No. 6-ranked Hamilton. McManus tied the game up at 5:27 of the third period on a power-play goal and added an unassisted marker at 6:26 to give the Ephs a brief 3-2 lead. Against visiting Amherst, McManus assisted the game-winning goal and scored a late tally in a 5-2 triumph over the Mammoths.
NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Co-Players of the Week | Weekly Release
Natalie Stott – Amherst – Sr. – G – Franklin, Mass.
Stott became the NCAA Division III record holder for career shutouts after stopping all 25 shots she faced in back-to-back shutout wins last week. Stott’s third shutout of the season versus UMass Boston in the seventh game of the 2025-26 campaign was the 36th of her career, establishing a new NCAA mark. The senior made 15 saves in a 3-0 win over Curry and then 10 stops in a 6-0 win over UMass-Boston, which gave her the record. Stott leads the NESCAC with a 0.56 goals against average and three shutouts, and her .971 save percentage is second.
Annie Gallagher – Williams – So. – Wellesley, Mass.
In the only game of the week for Williams, Gallagher scored both goals in the Ephs’ 2-1 victory at No. 9-ranked Plattsburgh State. Gallagher gave Williams a 1-0 lead at 3:58 of the second period and added a second power-play marker at 13:49 to push the lead to 2-0 after two periods. It was the Ephs' second win all-time against Plattsburgh State in 16 tries and their first on the Cardinals' home ice.
