CLEVELAND – After a fall of unprecedented success the Tufts Jumbos stand atop the Learfield Directors' Cup Division III standings following the 2025 fall season and leads 10 NESCAC institutions ranked in the top 50, including four institutions ranked in the top 10.
Learfield and NACDA released the Fall Standings on December 23, with the final fall standings for Division I and Division III to be published in January following Bowl Games, the FCS Championship and the Division III Football Championship.
NESCAC teams won two national titles this fall with Jumbos capturing their second field hockey title and fifth men's soccer championship. Other highlights from the fall season in the conference included Middlebury's Audrey MacLean winning the individual title and Williams earning national runner-up honors in the team standings at the Women's Cross Country Championship, the Tufts women's soccer team advancing to the final four, and the Colby Mules advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship. A conference record 37 teams and eight individuals were selected to NCAA Division III Tournament fields this fall and NESCAC teams went 18-1 in first-round match ups.
Tufts totaled 485 points and owns a 30.5-point lead over second-place Johns Hopkins (454.5 points). Other NESCAC teams in the top 10 include Williams (4th - 343.50 pts), Middlebury (7th - 307.50 pts), and Wesleyan (8th - 252.50 pts).
Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Standings published mid-season are unofficial, the official standings will be published upon the completion of the spring season.
