NESCAC Player of the Week
Jarrel Okorougo – Trinity – Sr. – F – Stoneham, Mass.
Okorougo achieved a pair of career milestones in a 2-0 week for the top-ranked Bantams, averaging 23.0 points, 3.0 steals, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 72.4 percent (21-of-24) from the floor. With 19 points in a victory over Saint Joseph (CT), Okorougo became the 33rd player in program history to reach the 1,000 career point milestone, while adding a season-high five steals, three assists, and two rebounds. The senior followed with a career-high 27 points in just 23 minutes of action, connecting on a career-best 12-of-15 from the field, with two rebounds and a steal in a decisive 77-44 victory over Babson.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Nate Pabis (Herndon, Va.) averaged 18.5 points per game while shooting 60 percent (15-25) from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Mammoths. In an 82-62 win over MCLA, Pabis scored a career-high 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting (76.9%) from the floor while grabbing five rebounds and registering two steals. The junior added 11 crucial points off the bench with two rebounds, a steal, and a block in a 69-65 win over Westfield State. 

Bates – Junior Babacar Pouye (Carpinteria, Calif.) recorded his fourth double-double of the season, tallying 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 54-50 win for the Bobcats over Bowdoin. The forward also recorded three steals and blocked a pair of shots as Bates improved to 7-0. Pouye leads the NESCAC in rebounding (10.0 per game) and ranks second in field goal percentage (57.7%) as Bates is off to its best start since the 2014-15 season.

Bowdoin – Sophomore Ray Cuevas (Ipswich, Mass.) continued his torrid start to the season for Bowdoin in a trio of games last week. Cuevas averaged 26.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field and 58 percent from three-point range. Cuevas scored a career-high 39 points on Saturday in an overtime setback to Carnegie Mellon. 

Colby – Junior Sam Hinman (Needham, Mass.) provided a spark off the bench for Colby in the Mules’ first loss of the year, an 81-82 overtime setback against St. Joseph's (ME).  His 13 points marked the third straight game reaching double-digits, and his four 3-pointers were a game-high.

Conn. College – James LaFrance (Guilford, Conn.) averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 4.0 steals per game last week as the Camels went 2-0 in non-conference action. The sophomore netted 16 of his game-high 23 points in the second half of an 88-69 victory over Anna Maria in which he also added seven rebounds, three assists, and six steals. LaFrance led all scorers with 21 points in a 72-57 road win over SUNY Old Westbury and chipped in three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. LaFrance shot 47 percent from the floor for the week and went 7-for-18 from three-point range.

Hamilton – Matthew Rideout (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in two games. Rideout poured in a career-high 26 points and handed out three assists in a 78-72 setback against SUNY Polytechnic. The junior scored a team-best 14 points and added five boards in a 63-43 loss at Marymount.
 
Middlebury – Ian Murray (Kennebunkport, Maine) averaged 13.5 points and added a team-best 6.5 rebounds in the UAA Challenge hosted by Bowdoin. The guard opened the weekend with nine points and five rebounds in a hard-fought 79-77 loss to the University of Rochester. Murray capped the two-game slate by adding a team-high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting and grabbed a career-best eight boards against Carnegie Mellon.
 
Tufts - Scott Gyimesi (Fair Haven, N.J.) helped the Jumbos post a 2-0 week and extend their win streak to seven straight games. In wins over Bridgewater State and Lasell, Gyimesi had 14.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while adding 2.5 blocks per contest. Against Bridgewater State, the senior posted 12 points and 10 boards and followed that with 17 points and 15 rebounds against Lasell. 

Wesleyan – Sam Pohlman (New York, N.Y.) led the Cardinals in scoring, averaging 19.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three in two wins for Wesleyan. Pohlman opened with 14 points and six assists in an 83-75 home win over Worcester State, and followed up with a career-high 24 points, scoring 14 in the second half alone, on 8-for-14 shooting from the floor in a 65-54 win over Williams. 

Williams – Sophomore Jackson Rein (Raleigh, N.C.) averaged 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Ephs. The forward posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 67 percent from the field and 2-for-4 on 3-pointers, in a 79-69 win over Vassar. Rein tallied 14 points and eight boards at Wesleyan on Saturday.
