NESCAC Weekly Release - Dec. 1, 2025

The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week ending on December 1. The conference recognizes student-athletes in each sport each week for their contributions to their teams, based on information provided by the athletic communications offices on each campus. During the winter season, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's ice hockey players of the week will be announced on Mondays. NESCAC men's and women's swimming & diving athletes of the week will be announced on select Tuesdays.

NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Ray Cuevas – Bowdoin – So. – G – Ipswich, Mass.
Cuevas averaged 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in a pair of non-conference wins last week against Springfield and MIT. Cuevas scored 29 points against Springfield, going 6-for-7 from three-point range, with eight boards and four assists. After being held to two first-half points at MIT, Cuevas scored 17 of his game-high 19 points in the second stanza as Bowdoin rallied for the road win. For the week, Cuevas connected on 61 percent of his shots from the field (19-31), 75 percent from long distance (9-12), and has made his last 37 free throws dating back to November 16. 
 
NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Kathleen Smith – Williams– Jr. – F – Plaistow, N.H.
Smith averaged 16.0 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting 67 percent (12-18) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Ephs. Smith finished with 17 points, including eight in the final quarter to allow Williams to build on a three-point lead, and added 12 rebounds in a 53-46 non-conference victory over Wesleyan. The forward recorded 15 points and eight boards, while shooting 7-of-10 from the floor, in a come-from-behind 64-57 victory over visiting Springfield. Smith scored nine of the Ephs’ 12 points in a 12-2 spurt over the third and fourth quarters that turned a two-point deficit into an eight-point lead in the eventual win.
 
NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Vincent Lamberti – Amherst – Fy. - G – Los Angeles, Calif.
 Lamberti made two starts and went 1-0-1 last week, stopping 51 of 52 shots he faced against two nationally-ranked opponents. In a 3-0 win over No. 9 Geneseo, the rookie stopped all 25 shots he faced to record his second career shutout. On Sunday at No. 11 Babson, he stopped 26 of 27 shots faced in a 1-1 tie (shootout loss). 
 
NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Sarah Myziuk – Hamilton – So. – F – Macomb, Mich.
Myziuk recorded a hat trick and added an assist in a 6-2 win against SUNY Morrisville in the lone game of the week for the Continentals. The hat trick was the first of Myziuk's career, and it was the first four-point game for a Hamilton player since Feb. 11, 2022. The sophomore's first two goals of the game tied the score at 1-1 and 2-2, and her third marker of the afternoon put the Continentals ahead 3-2 for good midway through the second period.
