For the first time since 2017, Tufts will host the remaining round of the 2025 NESCAC Men’s Soccer Championship at Bello Field on November 8 and 9. The quarterfinals featured two upsets with No. 6 Middlebury and No. 5 Conn. College earning wins to reach the semifinals. The Panthers and Camels will be joined by the top-seeded Jumbos and No. 2 seed Wesleyan.
The Jumbos are also hosting the semifinals and championship games for the NESCAC Women’s Soccer and Field Hockey Tournaments on November 8 and 9. It is the first time in conference history that the same institution earned the No. 1 seed in field hockey, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer, and will host the semifinals and championship games in those sports in the same season.

No. 6 Middlebury (9-4-2) vs. No. 1 Tufts (12-1-3)
- Daniel Yanez converted a penalty kick in the 76th minute to lift top-seeded Tufts past No. 8 Bates, 1-0.
- The Jumbos, who have won three NESCAC Championships, advanced to the semifinals for the seventh time in program history and fifth time in seven seasons.
- Tufts has scored a NESCAC-best 37 goals while conceding the fewest in the conference (7). Xavier Canfin leads the Jumbos with 12 points on three goals and six assists. Henry Brown is the leading goal scorer for Tufts with five markers. Nikola Antic is the top goalkeeper for Tufts with a NESCAC-best 0.46 goals against average. He also carries a .788 save percentage with eight shutouts, the most among conference netminders. The Jumbos have posted clean sheets in their last six outings.
- Middlebury scored a pair of late goals to erase a 1-0 deficit against No. 3 Bowdoin. Will Sawin scored in the 74th minute and Colin Dugan netted the game-winner in the 82nd minute. The victory extended the Panthers’ win streak to four and improved to 6-1 in their last seven matches.
- The Panthers, last year’s NESCAC Runner-Up, are in the semifinals for the sixth straight season and own three conference crowns (last: 2019).
- Sawin ranks third among the NESCAC leaders with seven goals and is second in points with 18 (7G, 4A) while Eduardo Casanova is tied for the conference lead in assists (7) and has 11 points for the Panthers. Joey Waterman owns the top save percentage in the NESCAC (.870) to go with a 0.60 goals against average and five shutouts.
- Tufts posted a 2-0 victory at Middlebury on October 18. The Panthers are 5-4-0 against the Jumbos in the NESCAC Tournament, but Tufts recorded a 2-1 victory in the last meeting in the 2023 semifinals.
No. 5 Conn. College (9-2-5) vs. No. 2 Wesleyan (9-3-4)
- Wesleyan’s Aiden Londergan assisted the game-tying goal and netted the game-winner with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to propel the Cardinals past No. 7 Amherst, 3-2, and into the semifinals for the first time since 2015.
- The Cardinals have reached the championship game twice in team history (last: 2015), and won the program’s only title in 2005.
- Londergan is tied for second among the scoring leaders in the NESCAC with 17 points (7G, 3A). Joshwin Jennings has a team-leading four assists to go with four goals and 12 points. Mathis Blanc owns a .824 save percentage and 0.87 goals against average.
- Conn. College, the defending NESCAC Champs, recorded a 2-1 upset at No. 4 Williams. Gavin Vanden Berg’s goal in the 57th minute broke a 1-1 tie to propel the Camels into the semifinals for the fifth consecutive season.
- The Camels won their first NESCAC title in program history last season with a 3-1 victory over Middlebury. Conn. College has played in three of the last four championship games.
- Marco Perugini leads the team in scoring (14 points), goals (5), and assists (4). TJ Krongard is the leading goalie for Conn. College with a 0.67 goals against average and .796 save percentage to go with seven shutouts, second most in the conference. Krongard made seven saves in the quarterfinals.
- Wesleyan and Conn. College played to a 1-1 draw in the regular-season finale on October 28. The teams have met just once in the NESCAC Tournament with Wesleyan registering a 1-0 victory in the 2013 quarterfinals.
