NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team Released

HADLEY, Mass. – Over 1,000 student-athletes have been named to the 2023 NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale at the end of the 2022-23 academic year. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution. Of the student-athletes to garner All-Academic honors this fall, 121 earned both All-Academic and All-NESCAC accolades, and 52 individuals were named to both the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams. 

The 2023 Fall All-Academic Team includes 10 players of the year or most outstanding performers from the seven fall sports the NESCAC sponsors:
  • Katie George (Middlebury) - NESCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Year
  • Genna Girard (Williams) - NESCAC Women's Cross Country Most Outstanding Performer
  • Ryan Grady (Middlebury) - NESCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year
  • Amy Griffin (Middlebury) - NESCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year
  • Charlotte Huang (Amherst) - NESCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year
  • Tomàs Kenary (Middlebury) - NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Year
  • Sophia Lindus (Wesleyan) - NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Year
  • John Lucey (Williams) - NESCAC Men's Cross Country Most Outstanding Performer
  • Jaquelin Nordhoff (Williams) - NESCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Year
  • Bianca Ortiz (Wesleyan) - NESCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year
Founded in 1971, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) consists of 11 liberal arts colleges and has consistently reflected its commitment to the values of athletics and academic achievement. The member colleges of the conference are Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College.

NOTE: The lists of All-Academic honorees were provided by each institution's athletic departments. The cumulative GPA on record as of the end of the 2022-23 academic year was used to determine eligibility for the fall all-academic team. Corrections to the All-Academic Team will not be made 30 days after the publication date of the release.
