Tufts' Helm Named NFHCA National Division III Offensive Player of the Week

MEDFORD, Mass. - After a big week for the No. 1 Tufts University field hockey team and sophomore Eleanor Helm, the standout forward was named as this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Player of the Week. She joins York College of Pennsylvania goalkeeper Maddy Merlack as this week's honorees.

The Jumbos went 3-0 this past week with wins over three nationally-ranked opponents, including wins over No. 7 Babson, No. 14 Amherst and No. 11 Hamilton. She contributed on both fourth-quarter goals against Babson, and then assisted on the deciding goal against Amherst.

On Sunday at Hamilton, Helm scored during a penalty corner with no time remaining in the first overtime to secure a 2-1 road victory over the Continentals. She was honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week as well.

Helm is the first National Player of the Week for the Jumbos since Lydia Eastburn was honored November 13, 2024 with Defensive Player of the Week accolades. She's the first NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Year since Andrea DelGiudice picked up the award September 18, 2024.

Tufts takes on No. 2 Middlebury College Saturday at 11 a.m. in NESCAC action on Ounjian Field for Senior Day.
