NESCAC Champion Tufts and Runner-Up Bowdoin were selected to the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship field. The Jumbos earned an automatic bid after winning their first NESCAC title in 36 years while the Polar Bears were an at-large selection.
Both teams will host NCAA First, Second, and Third Rounds on their respective campuses on May 8-10.
At the Vouté Courts, the Jumbos (22-2) will play the winner of the first round contest between Moravian University (15-5) and Baruch College (15-3) on Saturday in the NCAA Second Round. Trinity (Texas) (13-8) meets TCNJ (15-5)/St. John Fisher (12-3) winner on Saturday. Saturday's second-round winners play on Sunday.
Baruch College was an automatic selection after winning the CUNYAC title, St. John Fisher won the Empire 8 Conference Championship, and Moravian was the Landmark Conference Champion. Trinity (Texas) earned an at-large selection into the field. Tufts is hosting the NCAA Tournament Regional for the third time in program history.
Bowdoin (17-4) will host a regional at Pickard Tennis Courts on May 8-10. Friday’s first round matches pit Farmingdale State against Rogers Williams and Skidmore versus Bridgewater State. The Polar Bears will face the Farmingdale State (14-7)/Roger Williams (18-5) winner while Babson (18-4), the NEWMAC Champion which also earned a first-round bye, will play the Skidmore (16-5)/Bridgewater State (12-4) winner in second round action on Saturday. The winners of Saturday’s matches meet in the third round on Sunday.
Farmingdale State won its fourth straight Skyline Conference title, Roger Williams won the Conference of New England crown, Skidmore won the Liberty League Championship, and Bridgewater State was the Little East Champion to earn automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament.
