Why did you choose to attend Bowdoin?
Bowdoin stands out to me because of its exceptional academics and highly competitive tennis program. Beyond the classroom and the courts, I was drawn to its location on the Atlantic coast, where access to the ocean and surrounding natural beauty creates an energetic environment. The combination of strong intellectual rigor, athletics, and coastal scenery makes Bowdoin a truly special place.

What is the best thing about being part of the NESCAC?
The best thing about being part of the NESCAC is the camaraderie it fosters among athletes. While we compete hard on the field and court, there’s a mutual respect that allows us to look beyond the rivalry once the match is over. Because most NESCAC schools are similar in size and culture, it often feels like we’re part of one larger community, connected by shared experiences both in athletics and in college life.

You have a blank canvas, paint your perfect day. What does it look like?
My perfect day starts in San Francisco with an early surf session, followed by a great breakfast burrito from a local spot. I’d spend the afternoon either relaxing, hanging out with my future dog, or playing golf before meeting friends for dinner. I’d end the night going to a concert or exploring a new area of the city.

What is your dream job/career?
I’d love to be a sports reporter/ESPN commentator. I think I could go toe-to-toe with Stephen A. Smith debating anything sports-related.

What’s your go-to warmup song?
Greyhound – Swedish House Mafia

What is something you enjoy doing that you never get tired of?
I’ve always loved surfing, especially because I can’t do it for much of the year, which makes it feel even more special. It’s both therapeutic and gives me an adrenaline rush at the same time. Even though I never get tired of being out on the water, paddling out and getting pummeled by waves can be pretty miserable.

What has been your favorite class?
I’ve taken a lot of great classes at Bowdoin, but my favorite right now is Asian American Cinema. I’ve really enjoyed how the course explores storytelling, representation through film, and how those themes connect to broader cultural conversations. It’s pushed me to think more critically about media while also making class discussions feel meaningful.

Have you studied abroad during your collegiate experience?
I studied abroad in Madrid during the fall semester of my junior year. I was incredibly fortunate to study computer science while traveling throughout Europe. Amsterdam, Madrid, and Prague were some of my favorite cities I had the chance to explore.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned from being a student-athlete?
The greatest lesson I’ve learned from being a student-athlete is how to communicate and relate to different kinds of people. I’ve been extremely lucky to meet athletes from all over the world, and I’ve learned how to connect with people on an individual basis as well as in a team environment. The Bowdoin Athletic Department does a great job connecting athletes from different programs through morning conditioning and lifting sessions.

What is something interesting about you that others might not know?
I’m a huge Chelsea fan and try to watch as many matches as I can. Even though I’m not great at soccer myself, I’m drawn to the passion and loyalty that supporters have for their clubs. Up the Chels.
