NCAA Women's Lacrosse Elite 8 Features Five NESCAC Teams

The Elite Eight round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament will feature five NESCAC teams following quarterfinal results.

Overall No. 1 seed Middlebury will host TCNJ at Peter Kohn Field, Tufts and Williams will meet in one all-NESCAC quarterfinal at Bello Field in Medford, Mass., while Wesleyan and Trinity will square off in another quarterfinal at Smith Field in Middletown, Conn. The conference is guaranteed two of the four teams in next week's Final Four in on Rochester, N.Y.


Middlebury def. Rowan, 21-4 | Box Score
Middlebury rolled past Rowan behind a dominant first quarter, building a 9-1 lead that proved insurmountable. Caroline Adams paced the Panthers with five goals, while Maeve Lee added four. Middlebury (20-0) outshot Rowan 36-17 and controlled the draw circle 18-9. Rowan's Elaina Corson provided the bright spot for the Profs, scoring twice, including a man-up goal, to briefly make it 10-3 in the second quarter. The Panthers answered with an 8-1 run to close out the match. Elizabeth Savage earned the win in net for Middlebury, allowing four goals before giving way to reserves. Kylie Durboraw made eight saves for Rowan. Middlebury will face TCNJ in the quarterfinal round on Sunday, May 17 at 1 p.m.


Tufts def. Gettysburg, 16-7 | Box Score
Tufts (16-3) built a commanding 12-0 lead before Gettysburg mounted a spirited second-half rally that proved too little, too late. Eleanor Helm and Allie Zorn each scored three times as the Jumbos controlled the first half. Gettysburg outscored Tufts 7-4 over the final two quarters, with Julia Daly contributing two goals, including a man-down tally in the fourth. Kali McDonnell and Michaela Kelly each added two goals for the Bullets. Devon Chipman started in goal for Tufts and earned the win, with Sophie Powless finishing the final half. Gettysburg's Elizabeth Tydings made five saves after relieving Marin McGuire to open the second half. The Jumbos will face NESCAC foe Williams on Sunday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m.


Williams def. Colorado College, 16-5 | Box Score
Williams (12-7) overwhelmed Colorado College with a relentless offensive attack, scoring 14 goals before the Tigers cracked the board twice in the fourth quarter. Sydney Puntus tallied three goals and two assists, while Franny Donohue recorded two goals and four assists to pace the Ephs. Colorado College's Elsa Greene scored three times in the final two quarters. Williams held a commanding 31-20 shot advantage. Charlotte Cote started in net for Williams before Savoy McMahon finished the final quarter. Cassidy Schnaufer made eight saves in a losing effort for the Tigers.


Trinity def. Pomona-Pitzer 14-9 | Box Score
Trinity (14-5) erupted for six first-quarter goals to seize control and never looked back against Pomona-Pitzer. Grace Denious led the Bantams with three goals and an assist, while Kaeley Zito and Sarah Marvin each added two goals and two assists. Trinity took a 10-3 lead through two quarters before Pomona-Pitzer climbed to within 11-5. The Sagehens outscored Trinity 4-2 in the fourth quarter, but the deficit proved too steep. Taylor Glanville scored twice for Pomona-Pitzer, with Caili Cross also notching a pair. Alison MacDougall went the full 60 minutes in goal for Trinity and made 10 saves. The Bantams improved to 15-5.


Wesleyan def. Chicago 14-7 | Box Score
Bridget Horst scored five goals to lead Wesleyan (17-3) past Chicago in a contest the Cardinals controlled from the opening draw. Wesleyan went ahead 8-1 before Chicago found its footing, with Peyton McGuire eventually finishing with four goals for the Maroons. The Cardinals led 13-4 entering the fourth quarter, but Chicago scored three late tallies for the final margin. Addie Cummings and Elle Priesing each scored three times for Wesleyan. Izzy Weintraub was excellent in goal for the Cardinals, stopping 12 shots. Chicago's Lily Brill saved nine before exiting late. The Maroons won the draw battle 14-9 but were outscored in every quarter except the fourth.


TCNJ def. Amherst 11-9 | Box Score
Marissa Lucca's four-goal, four-assist performance carried TCNJ past Amherst in a back-and-forth contest. Amherst led 5-3 in the second quarter before TCNJ reeled off seven straight goals to take a 10-5 advantage midway through the third. Emily Petersen ignited a late Mammoth rally, scoring four times in the fourth quarter, including goals with 25 seconds and three seconds remaining. Petersen finished with four goals. Clara Sosa added two goals and an assist for Amherst. Hailey Wexler made 12 saves to earn the win for TCNJ. Lily Samoska stopped six shots in defeat.
