NESCAC Boasts a Conference Best Seven Teams in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament

A total of seven NESCAC teams were selected to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Tournament field, marking the most teams selected in conference history.
 
The tournament begins with the first round on Saturday, May 9 and will conclude on Sunday, May 24 at Judson Stadium in on the campus of RIT in Rochester, N.Y.
 
Four-time defending NCAA Champion and the 2026 NESCAC Champion, Middlebury College is the No. 1 overall seed. The Panthers are making their 30th appearance and enter the tournament with an unblemished mark of 18-0. Middlebury secured a first-round bye and will host an opening-weekend pod. The Panthers will face the winner of Western Connecticut/St. John Fisher on May 10 at Peter Kohn Field.
 
Amherst earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament and is making its second appearance in as many years and 16th in team history. The Mammoths will host a pod at Pratt Field and face the winner of the Stevens/Saint Joseph’s (ME) game on May 10.
 
The Colby Mules are making a fifth consecutive appearance (15th overall) in the NCAA Tournament. An at-large selection, Colby will meet Cortland in the first round on May 9 in a game played at Wesleyan. The Mules reached the NCAA Semifinals last season.
 
Trinity was selected for its third straight NCAA Tournament as an at-large team. The Bantams are making their 18th overall appearance in the championship. Trinity will host first- and second-round games and received a first-round bye. The Bantams will face the winner of Franklin & Marshall/Neumann in the second round on May 10.
 
Tufts, last year’s NCAA Runners-Up, returns to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight year and 11th time overall. The Jumbos will host first- and second-round games at Bello Field on May 9-10. Tufts will play the winner of the Endicott/Haverford game on May 10.
 
The Wesleyan Cardinals will host first- and second-round NCAA games after earning an at-large spot in the tournament field. Wesleyan is making an appearance in the field for the fifth consecutive season, and it is the Cardinals' eighth tournament appearance overall. Wesleyan meets the Colby/Cortland winner in the second round on May 10.
 
For the seventh time in program history and the first time since 2015, Williams was selected for the NCAA Tournament as an at-large selection. The Ephs square off against Grove City in first-round action at William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y.
