NESCAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Heads to Bowdoin

HADLEY, Mass. – For the first time in program history, Bowdoin will host the NESCAC Semifinals and Championship Games at Whittier Field on May 2-3.
 
The Polar Bears improved to 15-0 with a decisive 22-4 win over Williams in the quarterfinals. Bowdoin will face sixth-seeded Hamilton in the first semifinal at Noon. The Continentals pulled out a 10-9 win over No. 3-seeded Wesleyan thanks to Thomas Healy’s game-winning goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation. Hamilton is playing in the semifinals for the second time in three years.
 
The 2026 NESCAC Championship marks the third straight tournament in which lower-seeded teams earned quarterfinal wins to advance to the semifinals.
 
No. 2-seeded Tufts advanced to the semifinals with a 21-11 win over No. 7 Middlebury at Bello Field. The Jumbos meet No. 5 Bates in the second semifinal on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Bobcats earned a 12-7 win over fourth-seeded Amherst to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2017.
 
The winners will play for the NESCAC trophy on Sunday, May 3 at Noon. The game will be webcast on the NESCAC Network for free (click here).
 
No. 1 Bowdoin (15-0) vs. No. 6 Hamilton (9-6)
  • Bowdoin has allowed the fewest goals in the conference this season (125) and ranks second in goals scored (287 - 15.7 per game).
  • NESCAC Player of the Year Casey Ryan leads the league in goals (52), assists (38), and points (90), while teammate and All-NESCAC performer Chris Berry is second with 82 points on 47 goals and 35 assists.
  • Alec Delgado, the All-NESCAC Second Team goalie, leads the league with an 8.09 goals against average and .595 save percentage.
  • Hamilton’s Carson Kraus, an All-NESCAC First Team selection, leads the Continentals with 48 points and a team-high 37 goals to go with 11 assists.
  • Fellow All-NESCAC performer Riley Chai-Onn ranks second in the NESCAC in caused turnovers with 30 this season, and Andrew Higgins ranks among the league leaders in ground balls with 72.
  • Hamilton goalie Jack Williams is third in the NESCAC with 12.27 saves per game. Williams made 20 stops against Amherst in the season opener and has three of the highest single-game save marks in the conference this season.
  • Bowdoin defeated Hamilton, 17-9, in Clinton, N.Y., in the second game of the 2026 season on March 7. The Polar Bears are 2-0 against the Continentals in the NESCAC Tournament series. Bowdoin pulled out a 13-12 overtime victory in last year’s quarterfinal round.
  • Bowdoin is seeking its first NESCAC title and has been runner-up four times (last: 2022). Hamilton is also in search of its first conference championship.
No. 2 Tufts (15-1) vs. No. 5 Bates (11-4)
  • Tufts, the defending NESCAC Champion, has scored 287 goals (17.9 per game) to pace the NESCAC while surrendering 153 goals.
  • The Jumbos are led by the senior Jack Regnery, a three-time All-NESCAC selection and the No. 20 pick in the PLL Draft. The attacker ranks third in the NESCAC with 47 goals and 34 assists for 81 points through 16 games. Regnery has scored 12 goals over the last three games, including four in the quarterfinal win over Middlebury.
  • Teammate Brooks Hauser (47-16-63), an All-NESCAC performer, and teammate Chase Beyer (39-21-60) have 60 or more points for Tufts, while Victor Salcedo leads the Jumbos as the X with a 60.4 face-off percentage.
  • All-NESCAC First Team goalie Jack Old ranks second in the conference in goals against average (8.67) and is tied for the league lead in save percentage (.595).
  • Bates’ 11 wins in 2026 are the most since the 2017 season (16-2 record).
  • Riley McClure, an All-NESCAC Second Team selection, leads the Bobcats with 42 goals and 13 assists for 55 points, and All-NESCAC First Team performer Connor Hartman has contributed 41 points on 35 goals and six assists.
  • Miles Schmidt has registered 107 ground balls while also posting a 57.0 face-off percentage.
  • Andrew Toland is the team’s top goalie with an 11.14 goals against average and .528 save percentage.  
  • Tufts pulled away in the second half to earn a 14-10 win at Bates on April 8 in the regular-season meeting. The Jumbos are 2-0 against the Bobcats in the NESCAC Tournament. The teams last played in the 2013 quarterfinals with Tufts posting a 14-10 victory.
  • Tufts owns 13 NESCAC titles to lead all conference teams. Bates is seeking its first conference crown in men’s lacrosse.
