Middlebury to Host Remaining Rounds of NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Championship

HADLEY, Mass. – Top-seeded Middlebury will host the remaining rounds of the NESCAC Championship on May 2-3 at Peter Kohn Field. For the fifth time in six years, the top four seeds have advanced to the semifinals. 
 
The Panthers advanced to the semifinals for the 10th consecutive year and 21st time overall with an 18-6 win over No. 8 Bates. Middlebury will face No. 4-seeded Trinity in the first semifinal on Saturday, May 2 at Noon. The Bantams defeated fifth-seeded Amherst, 9-8, for the second time in four days to move into the semifinals for the first time since 2018.
 
Second-seeded Tufts rolled to a 20-7 win over No. 7-seeded Colby at Bello Field. The Jumbos will meet No. 3-seed Wesleyan in the second semifinal at 3 p.m. The Cardinals’ stingy defense held Williams scoreless for over 49 minutes en route to a 14-3 win over the sixth-seeded Ephs.
 
No. 1 Middlebury (16-0) vs. No. 4 Trinity (12-4)
  • Middlebury has allowed a conference-low 79 goals while scoring 226 (2nd in the NESCAC) during the 2026 campaign.
  • Caroline Adams leads the NESCAC in points (80) and goals (52) and has handed out 28 assists to pace the Panthers. Adams also ranks second in the league in draws with 89.
  • Teammates Haley Hamilton (47-6-53) and Skylar Lach (34-16-50) have also surpassed the 50-point plateau this season for the Panthers.
  • Annie Spring and Elizabeth Savage rank 1-2 among NESCAC goalies in goals against average at 4.40 and 4.82, respectively.
  • Grace Denious is tied for the team lead in goals (29) while handing out a team-best 22 assists for 51 points for Trinity. Fellow Bantam Kelsey Restivo is nearing the 50-point mark with 29 goals and 20 assists through 16 games.
  • Sam Hark ranks second in the conference in caused turnovers (51), and Caitlin Hicks is third in the league in ground balls (44).
  • Alison MacDougall is the leading goalie for Trinity with a 7.65 goals against average and a .468 save percentage.
  • On their home field, the Panthers posted a 10-4 victory over the Bantams on March 14. The NESCAC Tournament series is tied at 2-2 with Middlebury winning the last matchup, 16-13, in the 2018 semifinals.
  • Middlebury has won a conference-best 12 titles. Trinity has five NESCAC trophies in team history (last: 2015).
No. 2 Tufts (14-2) vs. No. 3 Wesleyan (14-2)
  • The semifinal is a rematch of the 2025 NESCAC Championship game, which the Jumbos won, 13-7, to claim their third conference title.
  • Tufts has scored a conference-best 255 goals in 2026.
  • Rookie Eleanor Helm is one of three Jumbos to reach the 50-point mark this season. Helm leads the team and ranks third in the conference with 74 points on 39 goals and a team-high 35 assists (2nd in the NESCAC). Schuyler Lloyd has contributed 40 goals and 28 assists for 68 points, and Allie Zorn has a team-best 44 goals and 20 assists for 64 points.
  • Elsa Shutt is the Jumbos’ leader in the circle with 80 draw controls (3rd in the NESCAC).
  • Devon Chipman is the top netminder for Tufts with an 8.07 goals against average and a .484 save percentage.
  • Wesleyan has surrendered just 95 goals (2nd in the NESCAC) this season while netting 191.
  • Addie Cummings is the leading scorer for the Cardinals with 48 points on a team-best 36 goals and 12 assists. Teammate Dylan Green has dished out a team-high 16 assists to go with 26 goals for 42 points.
  • Lindsey Diomede owns the most ground balls (49) and caused turnovers (53) in the conference, and goalie Izzy Weintraub carries a 5.87 goals against average and .522 save percentage into the semifinal.
  • Tufts pulled out an 11-10 overtime win against Wesleyan in Middletown, Conn. on April 11. The Jumbos are 4-1 against the Cardinals in the all-time NESCAC Tournament series.
  • Tufts is looking to win back-to-back titles and its fourth overall, while Wesleyan is seeking its first conference title in program history.
