NESCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week
Alex Lesko – Trinity – Sr. – A – Villanova, Pa.
Lesko led the Bantams to a pair of victories over fifth-ranked Amherst, tallying seven points with five goals and two assists. In a 10-7 win over the Mammoths to earn home-field advantage in the NESCAC Tournament, Lesko potted a goal with two assists. During the NESCAC Quarterfinal battle, Lesko netted two first-quarter goals to keep things close and then ignited a three-goal spurt in the fourth to propel Trinity to the 9-8 victory.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – In two games against Trinity,
Clara Sosa (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) scored five goals and added one assist for the Mammoths. Sosa had a team-high three goals in the 9-8 loss in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.
Bates – Grace Yonchak (Needham, Mass.) scored a pair of goals against No. 1-ranked Middlebury, converting both her shot attempts in the NESCAC Quarterfinal. The senior’s performance caps off a breakout season in which Yonchak scored 13 goals and dished out five assists, more points than she recorded in her previous three years combined at Bates.
Bowdoin – Junior
Grace Harvey (North Ferrisburgh, Vt.) scored three goals and an assist and six draw controls against Tufts on Wednesday. Harvey ended the year with 101 draw controls, a new single-season program record.
Colby –
Joselyn Silva (Beverly, Mass.) tallied a pair of goals in a NESCAC Quarterfinal setback at Tufts. With the two scores, the first-year midfielder ranks second in scoring for the Mules in her first collegiate season.
Hamilton –
Avery Trach (New Milford, Conn.) won a career-high nine draw controls, scooped up a team-best three ground balls, and caused a turnover in a 21-9 win against Ithaca. Trach helped lead the Continentals to sizeable advantages in draws (20-11) and ground balls (19-10). The junior averaged 5.33 draws in the last six games.
Middlebury –
Skylar Lach (Washington, D.C.) led the Panthers in a 2-0 week. The senior capped the regular season with a career-high six goals as Middlebury cruised to a 15-6 win at No. 19 Williams. Lach’s performance helped seal Middlebury’s fifth consecutive undefeated regular season. The attacker kept the offense rolling in the NESCAC Quarterfinals, logging a hat trick and a caused turnover as the top-seeded Panthers secured an 18-6 victory over Bates. Lach is the third player on the team to reach 50 points this season and is five goals shy of 100 in her career.
Tufts – In wins over Bowdoin and Colby, senior
Allie Zorn (Bedford, Mass.) finished the week with 12 points, scoring nine goals to go with three assists. At Bowdoin, she had two goals and two assists to contribute to a 14-11 win. In the NESCAC Quarterfinal versus Colby, Zorn tallied a career-high seven goals in a 20-7 victory.
Wesleyan –
Dylan Green (Pittsburgh, Pa.) popped off for a career-high five goals in a dominant 14-3 win over Williams in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. Green scored four times in the first half as the Cardinals held Williams scoreless for 49+ straight minutes, scoring 13 unanswered goals in the process. The senior added one goal and one assist on Wednesday in an 18-4 win over Conn. College to close out the regular season.
Williams – Senior
Franny Donohue (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) finished with four goals and one assist against No. 1 Middlebury in the regular season finale on Wednesday.
