Gyimesi & Reilly Named NABC District I Player & Coach of the Year; Seven NESCAC Players Honored

The NABC recognized seven NESCAC men’s basketball players with All-District honors. Wesleyan Head Coach Joe Reilly was named the District I Coach of the Year and Tufts’ Scott Gyimesi was named the District I Player of the Year.

Gyimesi, a finalist for the Jostens Award, is averaging 16.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for the Jumbos. The senior is shooting 56.0 percent overall, shooting 40 percent from three-point land on the year, while making 71.1 percent at the free-throw line. Gyimesi, the NESCAC Player of the Year, is among the all-time active leaders in double-doubles across all divisions of NCAA basketball (49) and leads active Division III players.

Gyimesi has helped lead the Jumbos to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since the 2016 season, and just the second time in program history. He ranks 13th all-time in scoring at Tufts with his 1306 points, while his rebound total of 948 is the most in program history.

Bowdoin sophomore Ray Cuevas finished the year averaging 22.2 points per game to lead the NESCAC. Cuevas’ average points per game are the most by a NESCAC player since fellow Polar Bear Lucas Hausman averaged 25.3 points per game in 2015-16. Cuevas also led the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.450) and is ranked in the top 10 in field goal percentage (.486). Through two seasons, Cuevas has totaled 925 points, the most ever by a Bowdoin men's basketball player in their first two years.

Okorougo and Vetter round out the NESCAC players on the All-District I First Team.  Okorougo leads the Bantams in scoring (15.8 ppg – 6th in the NESCAC) and rebounding (6.4 rpg – 9th in the NESCAC). The senior has totaled 41 steals (7th in the NESCAC) and is shooting 48.4 percent from the floor.

Vetter ranked third in the NESCAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.400), fourth in total assists (78), total steals (45), steals per game (1.7), seventh in assists per game (2.9), and ninth in the league in scoring, averaging 14.7 points per game.

The Trinity duo has guided the Bantams to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second consecutive season and fourth time in program history.

Pouye led the Bobcats to an 18-9 overall record, the program's first appearance in the NESCAC semifinals since 2012, and the program’s second bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Pouye averaged a team-high 14.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting 53.5 percent from the field.

Wolinski and Pohlman both earned All-District honors in what was their first season as full-time starters for the Cardinals.

Wolinski, a sophomore shooting guard, led the Cardinals in scoring and ranked third in the NESCAC at 18.1 points per game after averaging 4.1 points per game as a rookie.

Pohlman dished out a NESCAC-leading 6.4 assists per game while scoring 12.5 points per game to go along with 5.6 rebounds per game. Pohlman posted 193 assists against just 81 turnovers for a NESCAC-leading 2.4 assist/turnover ratio. He ranks sixth nationally in assists per game.

Reilly led the Cardinals to a 23-7 overall record, a 9-1 in NESCAC regular season play, the top seed in the NESCAC Tournament, and guided Wesleyan to the Sweet 16 for the second straight year to garner his third NABC District I Coach of the Year nod (2021-22, 2024-25). The Cardinals were ranked inside the Top 25 nationally for most of the season and achieved an 11th straight winning season. The 2025-26 campaign marked the Cardinals' fifth 20+ win season in program history, while Wesleyan hosted First and Second Round action of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year and fourth time in the past seven seasons.
