NESCAC Weekly Release - Feb. 16, 2026

The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week ending on February 15. The conference recognizes student-athletes in each sport each week for their contributions to their teams, based on information provided by the athletic communications offices on each campus. During the winter season, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's ice hockey players of the week will be announced on Mondays.

NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Zach Wolinski – Wesleyan – So. – G – North Andover, Mass.
Wolinski posted back-to-back career-high 30-point games over the weekend, leading the Cardinals to a pair of come-from-behind home wins over Bowdoin and Colby. Wolinski opened with his first career 30-point game, scoring 32 points, including 24 in the second half, to help Wesleyan erase a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat the Polar Bears. Against Colby, Wolinski netted 33 points (23 in the second half) as the Cardinals erased a four-point halftime deficit to finish the regular season undefeated at home. For the week, Wolinski averaged 32.5 points on 55.3 percent shooting, 61.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 83.3 percent from the line, grabbed 10 rebounds, handed out six assists, and registered a pair of steals and blocks. He scored 47 points in the second halves of the two games. 
 
NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Kathleen Smith – Williams – Jr. – F – Plaistow, N.H.
Smith averaged 22.0 points, shooting 63.6 percent from the field, and 16.0 rebounds per game, achieving double-doubles in both games. The forward finished with a career-high 30 points and tied a personal-best 19 rebounds at Hamilton. Smith followed that up with 14 points and 13 rebounds at Amherst.
 
NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Harrison Fogel – Williams – Jr. - G – Sandy Springs, Ga.
In the Ephs’ only game of the week, Fogel made a career-high 41 saves as Williams scored a pair of third-period goals to overcome a one-goal deficit in a 2-1 victory at Middlebury. Fogel recorded a .976 save percentage in a game where the Ephs were outshot 42 to 27.
 
NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Madeline Carter – Trinity – Jr. – G – Oak Park, Ill.
Carter was vital to the Bantams securing a pair of ties in a home-and-home series versus No. 4 Amherst. The junior stopped 77 of 79 shots faced for a .975 save percentage during the home-and-home series. Carter is one of six goaltenders to hold the Mammoths to one goal or less during the season.
