NESCAC Women's Basketball Weekly Release - Feb. 16, 2026

NESCAC Player of the Week
Kathleen Smith – Williams – Jr. – F – Plaistow, N.H.
Smith averaged 22.0 points, shooting 63.6 percent from the field, and 16.0 rebounds per game, achieving double-doubles in both games. The forward finished with a career-high 30 points and tied a personal-best 19 rebounds at Hamilton. Smith followed that up with 14 points and 13 rebounds at Amherst.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – In a 49-33 win over Middlebury, Chase Anderson (Concord, Mass.) scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds while registering two blocks and two steals along with one assist. 

Bates – Senior Ava James (Bethesda, Md.) started the week with five points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal at Connecticut College. In a 68-50 win over Tufts, James poured in a game-high 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting, matched her season-high with four made 3-pointers, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out an assist as Bates beat Tufts in Medford for the first time since 2005.

Bowdoin – Bowdoin closed out a perfect conference campaign with a pair of double digit wins over Wesleyan and Trinity. Senior Maria Belardi (Scranton, Pa.) reached double figures in both wins and has averaged 12.8 points per game, shooting 40 percent from three point range over the last five games. 

Colby – Lydia Mordarski (Mansfield, Mass.) led the Mules in their final weekend.  The senior collected 10 points against Trinity and 16 points against Wesleyan to end her career with 960 career points.  

Conn. College – Sofia Tavarez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) matched her career high with 31 points and handed out two assists as Conn. College stunned No. 10 Bates and secured a spot in the NESCAC Championship. The rookie netted 19 points in the opening half to give the Camels a 12-point lead at the break, the largest halftime deficit the Bobcats faced all year. Tavarez also drilled a season-high three triples in the contest, and on the defensive end, she chipped in three rebounds and three steals while drawing three offensive fouls. It marked her second 30-point game of the season, and she is the only player in the NESCAC with multiple 30-point games this season.

Hamilton – Taylor Lambo (Watertown, Mass.) averaged 15.0 points and 11.5 rebounds, went 10-for-11 at the free-throw line, and added four assists and two blocked shots in a 1-1 weekend. Lambo led the Continentals with 22 points and 15 boards in a 64-45 win against Middlebury – Hamilton's first against the Panthers since 2017. The double-double was the senior's 10th this season. Lambo also moved into first place on the team's all-time list with 877 career rebounds. Lambo chipped in eight points and eight rebounds in a 73-63 setback against Williams.

Middlebury – Islay Moore (Cavan, Ontario) totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds over two contests to close the season. The rookie tallied four points and a team-high seven rebounds in a setback to Amherst before adding nine points and four rebounds in the season finale at Hamilton.

Trinity – Junior Avery Marzo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was vital to the Bantams’ comeback bid against seventh-ranked Bowdoin College. Marzo helped fuel a rally that brought the Bantams to a third-quarter lead before eventually falling to the host Polar Bears. Marzo finished the game with 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. 

Tufts – First-year guard Tessa Lozner (Morristown, N.J.) tallied a team-high 16 points for the Jumbos in a home loss to No. 11 Bates. Lozner tallied a career-high nine rebounds to go with 16 points (6-for-11 FG).

Wesleyan – Senior Olivia Quinn (Franklin, Mass.) scored a game-high 23 points with eight rebounds as the Cardinals earned a road win over Colby. Quinn drained three 3-pointers for Wesleyan, who made 11 as a team against the Mules. 

Williams – Sophomore Micah Walton (Austin, Texas) also contributed to two Eph NESCAC victories at Hamilton and Amherst in the final weekend of the regular season. Walton dropped 24 points, shooting 10-for-18 from the field, to go along with eight rebounds, in a 59-44 win at Amherst. The guard added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists in a 73-63 triumph at Hamilton.
