Trinity's Marta Mazzocchi Named to Italian Women's Ice Hockey Olympic Roster

HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College junior Marta Mazzocchi has been selected to the Italian Women's Ice Hockey team for 2026 Olympics in Milano Cortina, announced by the Italian Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Tuesday. Mazzocchi becomes the seventh Olympian in Trinity Athletics history, and becomes the first member of the Bantams' Women's Ice Hockey program to grace an Olympic roster.

Watching Marta earn a spot on the Olympic team is one of the proudest moments of my coaching career," said Trinity College Head Coach Keith Maurice. "In the two years I've coached her, she has embodied everything you want in an athlete and teammate. This achievement reflects her years of sacrifice, discipline, and commitment to excellence, and I know she will represent her country—and the Bantams—with tremendous pride."

In her two seasons with the Bantams, Mazzocchi has tallied 30 points with 14 goals, including three powerplay goals and two game-winning goals, and 16 assists with a +10 plus/minus rating. Mazzocchi owns a. 533 win percentage (204/383) in the faceoff circle with 28 blocked shots.
