Middlebury's Meg Simon is a Hockey Humanitarian Award Nominee

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Middlebury's Meg Simon is one of 12 nominees for the 2026 Hockey Humanitarian Award. The award is presented annually to college hockey’s finest citizen — a student-athlete who makes significant contributions not only to his or her team but also to the community-at-large through leadership in volunteerism.

Simon is a senior forward on the No. 4-ranked Panthers ice hockey squad and a member of the Middlebury Women's Golf team. Simon won a NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Championship as a sophomore on the 2023-24 team and is a four-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree and a two-time Krampade/AHCA All-American Scholar. She also helped the Panthers capture their first NESCAC Women's Golf title in program history last spring.

Alongside being a two-sport athlete, Simon has been involved in multiple initiatives and organizations away from competition. She has served as the Co-Chair of Volunteering for the Middlebury Women's Hockey team, involving the Middlebury Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA), Special Olympics, and the Yellow House Community, a house that provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with safe, residential housing and meaningful vocation. Simon has also been actively involved in on-campus clubs and organizations, including the President of Middlebury College Access Mentors (MiddCAM), a RADical Health Mentor, and a member of Middlebury's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She has also been involved with the Jack Langerman Foundation since her sophomore year, an organization committed to fostering a sense of community through initiatives that inspire people to connect with, champion, and mentor others.

Finalists for the 2026 Hockey Humanitarian Award will be announced in February. This year’s recipient will be announced on Friday, April 10th, during the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four weekend in Las Vegas.
