The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week of March 24. The conference recognizes student-athletes for each sport based on their contributions to their team each week. This week's release includes the Player of the Week selections for baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse.

Player of the Week
Chester Boynton – Hamilton – So. – IF – Concord, Mass.
Boynton knocked out 11 hits and posted a .478 average with a .609 slugging percentage and .533 on-base percentage in a 5-2 week for the Continentals. Boynton scored nine runs, drove in five, doubled, tripled, walked four times, was hit by a pitch, and stole four bases. The sophomore finished with a career-high four hits, including a triple and a walk, and scored the go-ahead run in a 7-6 win against Knox. Boynton hit a bases-clearing double to break a 2-2 tie and finished with four RBI in a 15-4 victory against Worcester State.
Pitcher of the Week
Connor Podeszwa – Tufts – Sr. – P – Waterford, Conn.
In Game 2 of a doubleheader against Whittier, Podeszwa pitched nearly a complete game, going eight inning in a 1-0 loss to the Poets. The senior scattered eight hits over eight innings, struck out five batters, and did not allow a run.

Player of the Week
Isabel Bettencourt – Bates – So. – C – Peabody, Mass.
Bettencourt hit safely in all 10 games and posted a .656 batting average last week. Bettencourt tallied eight extra-base hits, including two home runs. The sophomore drove in 18 runs on the week, including seven in one game against Gallaudet. Bettencourt already has more hits through 10 games than she did all of last season. Bettencourt did not allow a passed ball and played errorless defense while guiding the Bates pitching staff to a 3.62 ERA.
Pitcher of the Week
Abby Moravek- Amherst – Jr. - P – Libertyville, Ill.
Moravek went 3-0 from the circle in a 6-4 week for the Mammoths, making four appearances and two starts. She had a 0.32 ERA for the week and a 0.69 WHIP. The junior allowed one earned run over 21.2 innings and striking out 29 batters. Moravek had a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 3-2 win over Fredonia, the first time she had reached double-digit strikeouts, and followed up with 10 punch outs in a 2-0 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Men's Lacrosse | Weekly Release
CK Giancola – Wesleyan – Gr. – A – Fort Myers, Fla.
Giancola came through in the clutch for Wesleyan in a pair of come-from-behind road wins at No. 12 Stevens and Bates. In a game the Cardinals trailed 7-2 at Stevens, Giancola scored the go-ahead goal with 13:50 remaining and finished off the win with an insurance marker with 3:16 left as he finished with four points (2G, 2A) against the Ducks. The graduate student followed up with a seven-point effort at Bates, matching his season-high with six goals, four of which were scored in the fourth quarter in a game that Wesleyan trailed 12-11 with under six minutes remaining.
Women's Lacrosse | Weekly Release
Sofia Guttmann – Amherst – Jr. – A – Weston, Fla.
Guttmann scored nine goals and added an assist in a 3-0 week for the Mammoths. The junior entered the week with just four goals on the season, but exploded for nine last week, registering a hat trick in each win, including a 13-9 conference victory over Bowdoin. Guttmann added one draw control and had two extra player goals.
