Williams Holds Slim Lead After Day 3 at the 2025 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships

WATERVILLE, Maine – Following the third day of competition at the 2025 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at Colby, Williams owns a slim 7.5-point lead over Tufts in the team standings. The Ephs and Jumbos each won three events in Saturday’s finals session.

200 Medley Relay
Graduate student Jillian Cudney’s anchor leg of the 200 medley relay propelled Tufts to a victory to kick off the third day of swimming at the NESCAC Championships. Cudney teamed up with Elena Harrison, Quinci Wheeler, and Jade Foltenyi to become the first Tufts relay to win the event in program history. The foursome posted a time of 1:41.31 (NCAA B-cut) to set a pool record and outlasted the Williams relay (1:41.54 NCAA B-cut), and snapped the Ephs’ streak of nine straight wins in the event. Colby’s squad placed third with a time of 1:41.95 (NCAA B-cut).

1000 Freestyle
Tufts’ Madeleine Dunn was the only swimmer to post a time under 10 minutes in the 1000 freestyle. Dunn’s time of 9:58.87 set a pool record and she claimed the NESCAC title for the second time in her career, also winning the event in 2023. The junior is the only Tufts swimmer to capture a win in the event in the program’s history. Williams junior Lily Codd placed second (10:03.55), and Middlebury senior Chloe Katz finished third (10:08.46).
