Top-Seeded Tufts Claims 2025 NESCAC Men's Soccer Crown

Top-seeded Tufts claimed the 2025 NESCAC Men’s Soccer Championship with a 1-0 victory over No. 5 Conn. College in a match played on the Jumbos’ home turf at Bello Field.

The Jumbos win their fourth NESCAC crown and their first since 2021. Tufts receives the NESCAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The field will be announced on Monday, November 10, at 11:30 a.m. via a selection show on NCAA.com.

The two teams played through 81 minutes of scoreless soccer until Xavier Canfin pounced on a back pass by the Camel defense to the Conn. College goalkeeper who tried to clear the ball but it deflected off of Canfin and into the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Conn. College pressed, looking to level the match. The Camels hit the crossbar on one shot, another attempt went wide, and Marco Perugini’s shot was blocked with just over two minutes remaining. Conn. College’s last-ditch effort on a free kick with 30 seconds left was corralled by Tufts goalkeeper Nikola Antic.

Conn. College held a 15-6 lead in shots (4-3 shots on goal) and a 6-4 advantage on corner kicks. Antic made four saves to pick up the clean sheet and victory, while TJ Krongard made two saves for the Camels.
