NESCAC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week
Alison Smith – Bowdoin - Fy. – RS – Winnetka, Ill.
Smith burst onto the scene with an outstanding opening weekend, including a 13-kill, three-block performance in the Polar Bears' 3-2 win over No. 3 NYU, marking Bowdoin’s highest-ever win over a ranked opponent. In three matches to open the season, Smith averaged 2.75 kills, hitting at a .356 percentage, and totaled six blocks. Smith notched 13 kills against NYU and 12 against Manhattanville. 

Eva Lekovic – Trinity – Sr. – RS – San Marino, Calif.
Lekovic helped power the Trinity offense to a trio of victories at the UMass-Boston Tournament and a 4-0 overall start, the Bantams’ best since 2012. Lekovic tallied 48 kills on a .330 hitting percentage with 10 blocks and six digs in three matches at the tourney. Lekovic posted a team-high in kills in two matches, including a career-high 24 kills against the host Beacons. Lekovic registered a .364 hitting percentage with 16 kills and three blocks versus Roger Williams, along with eight kills and four blocks against Bridgewater State in the tournament opener. Lekovic finished the opening week with 55 kills, 11 blocks, and an overall hitting percentage of .295.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
AmherstCharlotte Rasmussen (Los Angeles, Calif.) averaged 2.8 kills per set in a 3-0 week for the Mammoths, who swept Hartford and Johnson & Wales and rallied from two sets down to defeat Coast Guard, 3-2. The junior had 28 kills for the week, including 18 in the five-set thriller over CGA. Rasmussen also had four aces and three blocks while contributing 17 digs.

Bates – Sofia Castiglioni (Berkeley, Calif.) leads the NESCAC in hitting percentage at .441 after the first week of the season and Bates is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2019. 
The sophomore opened the season with a match-high eight kills with zero errors in a 3-0 win over Husson on Wednesday. Castiglioni followed up with six kills and three blocks in a 3-1 win over Keene State on Saturday. In Saturday’s second match, she capped off the week with five kills and no attack errors in a 3-0 win over Dean.

ColbyBrady Moseley (San Juan Capo, Calif.) led the Mules to a 3-1 week to open the season. The sophomore’s most dominant performance came in the lone setback at MIT, the reigning NEWMAC Champion.  Moseley tallied 17 kills, a number she reached only four times last season, and accounted for 38 percent of Colby's points.  

Connecticut CollegeMila Chan (San Francisco, Calif.) hit .295 and recorded team highs of 44 kills and 10 service aces last week as the Camels opened the season with a 4-0 record. After making her collegiate debut with seven kills and nine digs at Salve Regina, she recorded a pair of double-doubles at the Skidmore Classic to help the Camels go unbeaten in the tournament. Chan’s best performance came in a 3-1 victory over Nazareth in which she finished with match highs of 18 kills and 13 digs. The rookie also supplied eight blocks for the week, leading Conn. College to its best start to a season since 2017.  Chan was named to the Skidmore Classic All-Tournament Team.

Hamilton - In four matches at the RIT Invitational, Elodie McGeiver (Brooklyn, N.Y.) averaged 2.88 kills and 1.47 digs in 17 sets. McGeiver added eight blocks and six aces. The sophomore hammered a career-high 21 kills against SUNY Brockport. McGeiver set career bests with 11 digs and four aces and added four blocks against Buffalo State.

Middlebury – Senior Gabbie O’Toole (Overland Park, Kan.) averaged 8.91 assists per set in a three-match opening weekend for Middlebury. The Panther ended the weekend with 98 helpers across 11 sets, with 47 coming in a five-set thriller against St. John Fisher. O’Toole tallied a three service aces in two of the three contests and has tallied at least 20 assists in 77 of 78 matches played. 

Tufts – Rianna Liu (Foster City, Calif.) was named to the East-West All-Tournament Team after posting a strong weekend for the Jumbos, earning wins over WPI and Colorado College while falling to ranked teams CMS and WashU. For the week, Liu posted 80 assists, eight aces, and 35 digs. The sophomore started the week with 22 assists and four aces in a win over WPI, and also helped Tufts to a 3-0 win over Colorado College with a double-double of 22 assists and 13 digs. Saturday in a five-set loss to No. 9 CMS, Liu added 15 assists and 12 digs, and dished out 21 helpers and picked up seven digs in a loss to No. 19 WashU. 
 
Wesleyan – Senior Michelle Jorba (New York, N.Y.) put up 30 kills over four matches (2.5 kills per set) while hitting .339 for the week as the Cardinals went 3-1 to open the year. Jorba's best match came in a sweep of Emerson on Saturday where she finished with 11 kills on 18 attempts (.444 attack %).

WilliamsMorgan Daetz (Danville, Calif.) commanded a well-balanced offense for the Ephs in their opening weekend of play. The sophomore averaged 8.0 assists per set, including a 38-assist performance in the Ephs' 3-0 win over SUNY Oneonta on Saturday. Daetz also chipped in 13 digs and three service aces for the weekend. Her efforts landed her a spot on the Skidmore Invitational All-Tournament Team.
