BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Colby College Volleyball team earned wins in the second and fourth sets but fell 18-16 in the fifth in an Elite Eight match versus No. 10 Trinity (TX) in the NCAA Tournament, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The Mules were making their second Elite Eight appearance in program history and it was the first quarterfinal appearance by a NESCAC team since 2021.
"I am so proud of this group," said head coach Lindsay Johnson. "The level of grit and determination they showed, day after day throughout the season, but especially down the stretch in the regional bracket and through this event. What we have accomplished in our growth on the court and as players outshines our record by far."

After dropping the opening set 25-21, the Mules bounced right back two win the second 25-18. The third set was a back and forth battle with Trinity (TX) taking a 19-16 lead before Colby went on a run behind the serving of Brady Moseley to jump ahead 23-21. The Tigers finished the set with a run of their own to take the 25-23 victory.
The fourth set was neck and neck through the first half until Colby pulled away 22-15, and then finally 25-16.
The fifth set featured ties at 10, 12, 14 and extra points at 16. The Tigers were able to pull out back-to-back points when it mattered and closed the fifth 18-16.
Kendal Glover led the way for Colby with a career-high 18 kills, and added six assisted

blocks for 21 points. Cyanne Jones and Marjorie Johnson were also strong at the net with five assisted blocks apiece. Moseley and Jones also tallied in double-digits for kills with 12 each. Gabby Grujic and Sydney DeProfio combined for 56 assists from the setter position, and Moseley and Alli McKenney led the Mules with a combined 46 digs.
With a 26-4 record, fourth-ranked Colby closes its historic 2025 campaign and looks to making it three straight NCAA appearances in 2026.
