NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team Released

HADLEY, Mass. – Over 1,600 student-athletes have been named to the 2024 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution. Lists of All-Academic honorees were provided by the athletic departments at each institution. The cumulative GPA on record as of April 1, 2024, was used to determine eligibility for the honor. Of the student-athletes to garner All-Academic honors this spring, 207 earned All-Academic and All-NESCAC accolades, and 77 were named to the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams. A total of 10 student-athletes were named to all three squads: Phillip Clifton (Williams Men’s Golf), Amy Cui (Amherst Women’s Tennis), Yuu Ishikawa (Williams Women’s Tennis), Aidan Harris (Middlebury Men’s Tennis), Sophia Jones (Trinity Women’s Track & Field), Michelle Louie (Middlebury Women’s Track & Field), Jack Meehan (Tufts Men’s Golf), Ben Mitchell (Wesleyan Men’s Tennis), Reid Staples (Bowdoin Men’s Tennis), Vuk Vuksanovic (Tufts Men’s Tennis).

The All-Academic Team also includes the following individual award winners from this spring:
  • Baseball Player of the Year: Cole Palmeri, Colby
  • Baseball Pitcher of the Year: Justin Lessing, Middlebury
  • Baseball Defensive Player of the Year: Malcolm Whitfield, Tufts
  • Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Year: Will Byrne, Bowdoin
  • Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year: Hope Shue, Middlebury
  • Softball Player of the Year: Anika Ewert, Bowdoin
  • Softball Pitcher of the Year: Sadie Leonard, Williams
  • Softball Defensive Player of the Year: Josie Steinberg, Tufts
  • Men’s Tennis Clarence Chaffee Sportsmanship Award: Aidan Harris, Middlebury
  • Men’s Track & Field Most Outstanding Performer: Luke Botsford, Tufts
