Tufts Wins 800 Freestyle Relay to Kick Off NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Tufts Jumbos set a pool record in the 800 freestyle relay to kick off the 2023 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships hosted Bowdoin College.

In the only event of the evening on Day 1 of the championship meet, the team of senior Katelin Isakoff, senior Chloe Deveney, first-year Lillian Klinginsmith, and senior Claire Brennan combined to post a time of 7:20.18, four seconds better than their seed time and a new LeRoy Greason Pool mark The Jumbos win the relay for the second straight NESCAC Championship as they set a meet record in 2022 (7:18.26).

Williams (7:27.67) and Amherst (7:30.28) finished second and third, respectively in the event and all the top eight teams posted NCAA B-cut times.

The second day of the NESCAC Championships gets underway with swimming prelims at 10 a.m. The diving trials are set for 2 p.m. and the finals are set to begin at 6 p.m.
