NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week
Michelle Jorba - Wesleyan - Jr. - OH - New York, N.Y.
Jorba led Wesleyan to road wins over Middlebury (in five sets) and Hamilton as the Cardinals clinched the top seed in the NESCAC Championship and finished 10-0 in NESCAC regular season play for the first time in team history. Jorba recorded 23 kills with just five errors on 46 attempts, hitting .391 for the weekend while adding 11 total blocks. The junior started with 12 kills and a career-high seven total blocks in a thrilling five-set win against the Panthers. Jorba came back and hit .409 with 11 kills in 22 attempts to go along with four blocks in a sweep of the Continentals. 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior setter 
Carly Cooper (Nashville, Tenn) registered nine kills, 26 assists, an ace, and 25 digs in a four-set loss to Colby on Saturday.
Bowdoin –Rookie 
Skye LaMendola (Farmers Branch, Texas) had 21 kills and 11 digs to lead the Polar Bears to a Friday night win at Brandeis.
Colby - With a win over Amherst on Saturday, 
Brady Moseley (San Juan Capo, Calif.) helped Colby earn the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC Championship.  The 3-1 victory over the Mammoths snapped a stretch of 17 losses to Amherst where the Mules had only won four sets collectively over the 17 seasons. The first-year outside hitter led Colby with 15 kills, 13 digs, and two aces. On Saturday Moseley recorded nine kills, 16 digs, three aces, and two blocks, ending the regular season ranked sixth in kills per set and eighth in points per set in the conference.  
Conn. College – 
Riley Lord (Exeter, N.H.) led the Camels with 15 kills over two matches last week. She finished with a match-high nine kills and hit .444 in a sweep of Mitchell and chipped in 11 digs and four blocks. The sophomore also paced the Camels with six kills and eight digs in a loss at Tufts.
Middlebury – 
Gabbie O’Toole (Overland Park, Kan.) led Middlebury in assists (78) with 9.75 assists per set and digs (34 at 4.25 per set), while also tallying five service aces. The junior recorded a season-high 50 assists in a five-set loss to undefeated Wesleyan, eclipsing the mark for just the third time in her career. The setter also had a season-high six kills, helping Middlebury force the Cardinals to just their third five-setter this year. O’Toole has tallied 20 or more assists in 71 of 72 career matches and is fourth on the Panther’s all-time list with 2,361 in her career. The junior leads the NESCAC in total helpers (741) and is second with 9.50 assists per set. 
Hamilton – Senior 
Kate Carman (New York, N.Y.) topped the Continentals with 14 kills and tied a career-high with five blocks in a five-set loss against Trinity. Senior setter 
Melissa Morelli (Lynnfield, Mass.) recorded 25 assists and a career-best 18 digs in a three-set loss against Wesleyan.
Trinity – Sophomore 
Ellie Gordon (Los Angeles, Calif) registered a season-high 15 kills with three blocks and two digs in a five-set victory at Hamilton College. Gordon added nine kills and two blocks in a three-set loss at Middlebury.
Tufts – 
Claire Castor (Carmel, Ind.) helped Tufts earn a pair of three-set wins last week. The rookie posted 20 kills, posting only two errors, while adding 11 digs in the two matches. On Friday night, Castor recorded 12 kills on 20 swings, with five digs against Conn. College and tallied eight kills and six digs in a 3-0 win over Bowdoin on Sunday. 
 
Williams – 
Marit Hoyem (Menlo Park, Calif.) posted 11 kills while hitting .429, to help lead the Ephs to a 3-0 win over Colby on Friday at Chandler Gymnasium. The senior also pitched in 1.5 blocks and three digs on Senior Night.
