HADLEY, Mass. – Trinity junior Min Jin Teh has been named the 2020 NESCAC Player of the Year as voted by the NESCAC coaches. The NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2018, she also earned her third All-NESCAC honor with a spot on the First Team for the second year in a row, after earning Second Team accolades in 2018. Teh is the second straight Bantam to be honored as the NESCAC Player of the Year and Trinity has earned the accolade 11 times in the history of the award. Teh helped the Bantams win their 14th consecutive NESCAC title this season. Playing primarily the No. 1 spot on the Trinity ladder, she owns a 12-5 record mark this season. The Bantams (15-5) finished fourth in the Howe Cup at the College Squash Association National Team Championship last weekend.
Amherst first-year Daksha Pathak was selected as 2020 NESCAC Rookie of the Year by the league’s coaches and is the first Mammoth player to win the award. Pathak owns an 11-9 mark playing at the top spot on the ladder for the Mammoths. She helped Amherst finish fourth overall and contributed to the Mammoths’ Walker Cup (C Division) title with a 3-0 record at the CSA National Team Championship.
Middlebury head coach Mark Lewis was named the 2020 NESCAC Coach of the Year by his peers and earns the honor for the second time overall as he was also recognized in 2017. Lewis, who is in his fifth year at the helm of the Panthers, guided fifth-seeded Middlebury to a third-place finish at the NESCAC Championship. The Panthers defeated Bates in the CSA Team National Kurtz Cup (B Division) consolation playoff last weekend.
