Trinity Earns No. 1 Seed for NESCAC Women's Squash Championship

HADLEY, Mass. – The Trinity Bantams are the No. 1 seed in the 2026 NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship based on the College Squash Association (CSA) ELO Rankings as of February 9, 2026.
 
Hamilton College is the host of the eight-team NESCAC Squash Championships on February 14-15 at the Little Squash Center. The quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, February 14, starting at 10 a.m. The semifinals and final will be played on Sunday, February 15, with the championship match scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
NESCAC Championship History
Trinity has won all 18 NESCAC Women’s Squash titles. Last season, the Bantams faced Tufts in the championship match for the fourth consecutive year and posted a 9-0 win. Bates, Middlebury, Tufts, and Williams are the four teams other than Trinity to play in a championship match in tournament history.

No. 1 Trinity Bantams (7-4) vs. No. 8 Wesleyan Cardinals (9-5)
  • Trinity is the No. 1 seed for the 19th consecutive season.
  • The Bantams have won every NESCAC title (18 straight).
  • Trinity’s Doyce Lee won the Pool E title at the CSA Individual Championships in New York City on January 26.
  • Wesleyan has qualified for every NESCAC Championship (19 consecutive).
  • The Cardinals, who put together a five-match win streak in January, are the No. 8 seed for the fourth year in a row.
  • Trinity and Wesleyan did not meet prior to the championship. The Bantams are 7-0 against the Cardinals, which includes a 9-0 win in last year’s quarterfinal.
No. 2 Amherst Mammoths (14-1) vs. No. 7 Colby Mules (5-7)
  • Amherst’s No. 2 seed is the highest in program history.
  • The Mammoths have reached the semifinals seven times and three of the last four championships, including 2025.
  • Amherst, which has qualified for every NESCAC Tournament, stands at 14-1 and enters the tournament riding a nine-match win streak.
  • Colby returns to the championship after a one-year hiatus and is the No. 7 seed.
  • The Mules are looking to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2008.
  • Amherst posted a 7-2 victory over Colby on January 21 and is 2-0 against the Mules in the NESCAC Tournament. The teams last played in the 2017 quarterfinal consolation match when the tournament was an 11-team format. Amherst earned a 6-3 victory in the consolation round.
No. 3 Tufts Jumbos (9-5) vs. No. 6 Bowdoin Polar Bears (8-7)
  • Tufts is the No. 3 seed for the first time in program history.
  • The Jumbos have won three of their last four matches entering the tournament.
  • Tufts, which has qualified for every NESCAC Tournament, has finished as the NESCAC Runners-Up at the last four tournaments.
  • Bowdoin is making its 19th appearance in the NESCAC Tournament and is the No. 6 seed for the fifth year in a row.
  • The Polar Bears won three straight matches to close the regular season and are looking to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2009.
  • Tufts defeated Bowdoin, 8-1, on January 10. The Polar Bears hold a 6-0 advantage over the Jumbos in NESCAC Tournament action. The teams last met in the 2017 quarterfinal consolation round (when the tournament was an 11-team format) with Bowdoin posting a 5-4 victory.
No. 4 Middlebury Panthers (11-4) vs. No. 5 Williams Ephs (5-7)
  • Middlebury has qualified for every NESCAC Tournament and is the No. 4 seed for the first time since 2012.
  • The Panthers enter the tournament having won 11 of their last 13 matches.
  • Middlebury has advanced to the semifinals 13 times (last: 2024).
  • Williams has also played in every NESCAC Tournament. The Ephs are the No. 5 seed for the second time in three seasons.
  • The Ephs have reached the semifinals every year and are 12-time NESCAC Runners-Up. Their last appearance in the championship match was in 2020.
  • Middlebury registered a 7-2 victory over Williams on January 24. The tournament series record stands at 7-3 in favor of the Ephs. Williams defeated Middlebury, 6-3, in last year’s quarterfinal round.
