2007-08 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving All-Conference Team Announced

HADLEY, Mass. - The NESCAC announced today the 2007-08 Women's Swimming and Diving All-Conference Team. The top three finishers in each event at the 2008 NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship receive All-Conference recognition.

Amherst first-year Kendra Stern (Albuquerque, N.M.) was named Swimmer of the Meet after a stellar performance at the 2008 NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship. Stern is the second rookie swimmer to receive top honors after Meredith Olson of Williams claimed Swimmer of the Meet as a first-year student in 2001. Stern not only won the 100, 200, and 500-yard Freestyle races but also set a new championship record in all three events. She was also part of three Amherst relay teams that placed first at the meet. Four-Year High Point Swimmer was shared by seniors Brittany Sasser (Belmont, Mass.) of Amherst and Marika Ross (Shorewood, Wis.) of Middlebury. Tufts senior Kendall Swett (Akron, Ohio) claimed Diver of the Meet after winning both the 1 and 3-Meter Dives for the second year in a row. Swett set a pool record in the 1-Meter on Friday before smashing the NESCAC 3-Meter record by over 50 points with a score of 536.85 on Sunday. Middlebury senior Alanna Hanson (Goldens Bridge, N.Y.) was named the Four-Year High Point Diver.

After sharing Coach of the Year accolades last winter, Williams head coach Steven Kuster was once again honored as Swimming Coach of the Year. Tufts diving coach Brad Snodgrass earned Diving Coach of the Year for the second-straight year.
