HADLEY, Mass. - Following the 2005 NESCAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, the NESCAC has announced the 2004-05 all-conference team. The top three finishers in each event at the Conference Championships receive all-conference recognition. Williams senior Lindsay Payne earned Swimmer of the Meet honors after setting two National Division III records, breaking her own marks in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. At the Championships, Payne won three individual events in NESCAC record time while contributing to four Williams’ relay victories. Middlebury diver Tessa Truex placed second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard diving competitions on her way to being named Diver of the Meet.

Amherst senior Kate Shaw won the 3-meter event and placed third in the 1-meter to earn the Four-Year High Point Diver award. Last year’s Swimmer of the Meet Kate Kovenock secured the Four-Year High Point Swimmer award. Kovenock won the 50-yard, 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events 11 times during her four year career. Colby head coach Tom Burton was named NESCAC Coach of the Year. Burton’s Mules placed fourth in the team standings, their highest finish since 2001.
