AMHERST, Mass. -- Amherst men's and women's golf assistant coach Meredith Mayes has been chosen as the Golf Pride Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) 2025-26 Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Golf Pride WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year Award is awarded annually to the top assistant coach in Division I, II, and III women's golf.

Mayes recently completed her third season at Amherst and helped lead the women's team post a strong 2025-26 season. The Mammoths clinched three wins (George Phinney Golf Classic, Williams Fall Invitational) and had five top-three finishes. Amherst won its third  NESCAC Women's Golf Championship this spring and earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship. The Mammoths made the cut and finished seventh overall at the NCAA Tournament.

Mayes is the second NESCAC assistant coach to earn the honor. Williams assistant Bill Kangas garnered the award in 2025.
