Tufts Finishes Second in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings; All 11 NESCAC Institutions Rank in the Top 100

For the second consecutive year, all 11 NESCAC institutions ranked in the top 100 of the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, and all 11 institutions have been ranked in 26 of the past 29 standings that have been published.

Tufts, which claimed four national titles in 2025-26, led the conference, finishing second overall with 1252.50 points, just 14 points behind Washington University-St. Louis, which captured the Directors’ Cup for the first time.

Williams (1063.75 points) and Amherst (863.75 points) finished fifth and 10th overall to give the NESCAC three schools in the top 10.

A conference-record 118 teams from the NESCAC qualified for NCAA Championships in 2025-26. NESCAC teams won seven NCAA Division III titles, and student-athletes from the conference combined to win nine individual NCAA titles (4 men, 5 women).

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's NCAA Tournament finishes in up to 18 sports – nine women's and nine men's – four of which must be men's basketball and soccer, and women's basketball and soccer, leaving the next 14 highest points scored to also be counted.
