NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team Released

HADLEY, Mass. – A conference record 1,800-plus student-athletes have been named to the 2026 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution. Lists of All-Academic honorees were provided by the athletic departments at each institution. The cumulative GPA on record from the previous semester was used to determine eligibility.

Of the student-athletes to garner All-Academic honors this spring, 215 earned both All-Academic and All-NESCAC accolades, and 70 individuals were named to both the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams. 

A total of 11 student-athletes were named to all three squads: 
  • George Chaidemenous, Amherst men’s tennis
  • Nicholas Chen, Williams men’s tennis
  • Sophie Diop, Amherst women’s tennis
  • Cara Hung, Bowdoin women’s tennis
  • Clarie Jensen, Williams women’s outdoor track & field
  • Cam McLeod, Tufts men’s outdoor track & field
  • Theo Sardain, Bates men’s tennis
  • Shivani Schmulen, Bowdoin women’s golf
  • Charlie Schulman, Middlebury men’s golf
  • Charlie Spurrell, Amherst men’s outdoor track & field
  • Zach Utz, Middlebury men’s outdoor track & field
The All-Academic Team also includes the following individual award winners from this spring:
  • Baseball Player of the Year: Tyler Bernstein, Trinity
  • Baseball Pitcher of the Year: Cole Donato, Tufts
  • Baseball Defensive Player of the Year: Malcolm Whitfield, Tufts
  • Softball Player of the Year: Kristyn Carroll, Middlebury
  • Softball Pitcher of the Year: Sadie Leonard, Williams
  • Softball Defensive Player of the Year: Haley Leimbach, Tufts Women’s Golfer of the Year: Euna Lee, Williams
  • Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Year: Casey Ryan, Bowdoin
  • Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year: Nico Schermer, Bowdoin 
  • Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year: Caroline Adams, Middlebury
  • Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year: Lindsey Diomede, Wesleyan
  • Women’s Tennis Player of the Year: Tina She, Amherst
  • Women’s Track & Field Most Outstanding Performer: Simi Lawal, Tufts
