WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Middlebury Panthers vaulted to the top of the team standings with back-to-back eagles and a birdie on the 18th hole to close out the first round of the 2026 NESCAC Women's Golf Championship at Taconic Golf Club (Par 71 5,826 yards).
The top four teams in the standings are separted by seven shots heading into the second round. The Panthers (305) own a three shot lead over Amherst (308) with Williams (301) and Wesleyan (312) just behind. The NESCAC Championship features five teams ranked in the top 15 in Division III.
Middlebury was led by a +2 round of 73 from rookie Season Wei. Wei, who provided a birdie on the final hole, leads the field. Fellow Panthers Julia Han and Ella Han shot matching scores of 77 and Morgan Lee added a 78. Ella Han and Morgan Lee scored eagles on 18 in back-to-back finishes.
Heading into the second round, 12 golfers are within five shots of the lead. Second round action begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 2.
