NESCAC Baseball Player of the Week
Jack Kamin – Tufts – So. – OF – Shrewsbury, Mass.
Kamin batted .533 (8-15) with multiple hits in three of the four games, scored a run in every game, and drove in four RBI to help the Jumbos to a 3-1 record in games against Roger Williams and Trinity. In a 5-3 win over Roger Williams, Kamin went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, a stolen base, an RBI, and a run scored. In the three-game series versus Trinity, Kamin hit .545 (6-11) with four runs scored, three RBI, two doubles, and a home run.
NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Mark Kovach – Hamilton – So. – Matawan, N.J.
Kovach pitched all nine innings, struck out seven, scattered five hits, walked three, and allowed one run in a 4-1 win in the opener of a three-game NESCAC West Division series at Amherst. Kovach shut out the Mammoths over the last eight innings. The sophomore is the only Hamilton pitcher with two nine-inning complete games in the same season in the last 14 years.

Amherst –
Charlie LaFrenier (Norwalk, Conn.) helped the Mammoths post a 3-1 record last week to claim the top seed in the NESCAC West Division standings. The junior batted .500 (5-10) with a .583 on-base percentage and .900 slugging pct. In a crucial doubleheader sweep of Hamilton, LaFrenier batted 3-for-6 with an RBI and two runs scored and one double. In a 16-6 win over Trinity, he had a two-run home run …
Naaveen Narayanan (Malvern, Pa.) was 1-0 last week with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.50 WHIP. In a 4-1 win over Hamilton that allowed Amherst to claim the NESCAC West Division's top seed, he threw six shutout innings, allowing just one run, while walking two batters and striking out a career-high eight. The senior’s six-inning stint was the longest of his career at Amherst. Narayanan is 3-0 on the season.
Bates – Keagan Ryan (Salem, N.H.) batted. 600 (6-10) with five runs scored, six RBI, and five stolen bases in a 3-0 week for the Bobcats. The outfielder delivered the walk-off sacrifice fly on Sunday against the University of Southern Maine and stole home twice on Saturday against Lesley. Ryan sports a team-leading 1.021 OPS, and his 38 steals in 38 attempts, and 47 runs scored are all Bates single-season records …
John Tully (Framingham, Mass.) tossed the second complete game of his career and struck out a career-high eight batters as the Bobcats defeated Lesley 9-1 in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader. The senior scattered five hits and walked just two batters in his final home start as a Bobcat. He sports a 6-3 record with a team-best 2.38 ERA, the third-lowest ERA in the NESCAC.

Reuben Siegel (Arlington, Mass.) went 3-4 in the game, including a home run, three runs scored, three RBI, and a stolen base … Senior
Jackson Melendy (Winthrop, Maine) pitched a complete game shutout on Friday at Colby, allowing five hits and striking out five in a victory over the Mules.
Colby –
Myles Gythfeldt (Ridgefield, Conn.) collected six hits last week, scoring four runs and driving in four more. The sophomore had multi-hit games in two wins (Husson, Bowdoin) and reached 40+ hits for the second straight season to begin his career …
Kyle Bourque (Smithfield, R.I.) toed the rubber in two games for the Mules last week. In a midweek win against Husson, Bourque went 3.0 innings in relief without allowing a run, striking out four. In Saturday's matinee at Bowdoin, the senior hurled four innings in relief to earn his first save of the season.
Middlebury –
Will Ashley (San Francisco, Calif.) hit .417 (5-12) over three contests. With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, the Panther lifted a walk-off solo home run to seal a 6-5 comeback victory in Friday’s series opener against Williams. In Saturday’s doubleheader split with the Ephs, the junior went 4-for-7 with two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI … After the Panthers rallied for three runs in the ninth frame during the opening contest of the squad’s NESCAC West doubleheader, Dylan Knightly (Dedham, Mass.) hit the mound in the 10th inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, the senior rallied from a 3-0 count by throwing three consecutive strikes to get out of the jam before Middlebury walked it off in the bottom half of the inning. The victory was Knightly’s first of the season and set a program record for career appearances with 54.
Tufts -
Emmet Christian (Chapel Hill, N.C.) made his eighth start of the season in the first game of a doubleheader against Trinity. The sophomore earned his fifth win of the year, holding the Bantams scoreless in 5.2 innings of work. Christian racked up a career-high nine strikeouts, while allowing just four hits in the 3-1 victory.
Wesleyan – James Marsden (Ivortyton, Conn.) recorded multi-hit games in three out of four contests for the Cardinals. He went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, one triple, and two walks in a 16-6 win over Albertus Magnus on Tuesday. Marsden followed with a 2-for-4 outing with a double and one RBI in Game 1 against Vassar before going 2-for-3 with one walk and one run scored in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader in Poughkeepsie … Sophomore
Cole Perkin (Wenham, Mass.) tossed three no-hit, shutout innings in relief to earn his first career save on Sunday in a 2-0 win over Vassar. Perkin entered in the 5th inning and allowed just two walks while recording three strikeouts and no hits or runs allowed to earn the save.
Williams –
Will Scott (Redding, Conn.) finished 7-of-20 batting, with six runs, five RBI, two doubles, one home run, and one triple, in five games last week for the Ephs. The junior went 3-for-5 in the batter's box, with three runs, two RBI, and one triple, in a 16-6 win over Bard on Tuesday …
Matt Keene (Cohasset, Mass.) started and worked seven innings Friday afternoon at Middlebury. The junior struck out a career-high nine batters, while only giving up two earned runs, three hits, and three walks.
