NESCAC Baseball Player of the Week
Henry Ayers – Middlebury – Fy. – C – West Caldwell, N.J.
Ayers went 12-for-13 over three contests in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. The rookie opened the week with four hits and two runs scored as Middlebury defeated Norwich, 11-3. Ayers followed up with a 5-for-5 day that included three doubles to help the Panthers slide to a 6-5 victory over Keene State. The catcher closed the three-game slate with three hits, one run scored, and an RBI as Middlebury blanked VTSU Castleton, 7-0. Ayers leads Middlebury in multiple offensive categories, including hits (17), runs (10), and doubles (4).

NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Shamus Kelly – Wesleyan – So. – Waltham, Mass.
Kelly went the distance, tossing a complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over Penn State Abington, snapping the Nittany Lions’ nine-game win streak. It was Kelly's first career complete game, first career shutout, and first career win as the sophomore allowed six hits and no walks with five strikeouts.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Justin Orridge (Toronto, Ontario) went 3-for-8 in a 2-0 week for the Mammoths, who defeated Clark 15-10 in 10 innings and beat Babson 5-2.  In the win over Clark, Orridge's 10th-inning, two-run homer broke a 10-10 tie and propelled Amherst to the win. In that game, Orridge was 2-for-5 with four RBI, a double, and a home run. In the 5-2 win over Babson, the sophomore went 1-for-3 with an RBI … Nick Fassert (Katonah, N.Y.) threw four shutout innings in a 5-2 win over Babson. The sophomore allowed two hits and did not walk a batter while striking out five and leaving the game with a 2-0 lead. 

Bates – Keagan Ryan (Salem, N.H.) went 3-for-6 with three runs scored, a home run, a walk, and four stolen bases in the Bates’ doubleheader sweep of Plymouth State. The Bobcats (6-1) are off to their best start to a season since 1974 … Senior John Tully (Framingham, Mass.) tossed six shutout innings as Bates defeated Plymouth State, 3-0, in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader. Tully won his third straight start to begin the season, scattering five hits and striking out three, and lowered his season ERA to 1.06. Tully has thrown 17 innings to start the year without giving up a walk.

Bowdoin – Junior Henry Bibeau (Portland, Maine) batted .500 in three games last week for the Polar Bears, including a 4-for-5 effort with two solo home runs and three runs scored in a victory over Babson.

Colby – Patrick Shrake (Chicago, Ill.) extended his hit streak to eight games to start the season. Collecting eight hits on the week, the junior was 2-for-3 in his first two games before exploding for six hits across the next two. Across five games, Shrake went 8-for-13 at the plate, scoring seven runs. The shortstop added three walks and four stolen bases, and is batting 0.556 through nine games … Greg Levin (New York, N.Y.) earned his first win of the season in a 6-1 victory over New England College. The senior threw five innings of one-run ball, scattering two hits with a walk while striking out a career-high seven batters. Levin was perfect through the first three innings with nine up and nine down before surrendering a hit with one out in the fourth. 

Middlebury – Against VTSU Castleton, Hank Lloyd (Toronto, Ontario) allowed only three Spartans to reach base and struck out nine over six innings of work to help seal a 7-0 victory. The innings pitched and total strikeouts are the most by a Panther this season.

Tufts – Jack Kamin (Shrewsbury, Mass.) hit .545 (6-for-11) in a two-game split against Trinity University (TX). The sophomore scored four runs and collected six RBI. In a 24-9 win in San Antonio, the outfielder blasted a grand slam for his first collegiate-career home run. Kamin went 3-for-3 in his first three at-bats with two singles and the homer in the win in the second game of the doubleheader … Cole Donato (Walpole, Mass.) earned his second win in his second start of the season in a 24-9 rout over Trinity University (TX). After allowing three earned runs in the first inning, the senior conceded just two hits and struck out four batters over the following 4.2 innings, while Tufts' defense allowed just one unearned run with Donato on the mound.

Wesleyan – Senior William Moore (Atlanta, Ga.) recorded three multi-hit games while going 6-for-14 at the plate with five RBI, two doubles, and three runs scored in five games played last week for the Cardinals.

Williams – Marcus Burrell II (Temple Hills, Md.) went 2-of-4 batting with one double, one single, and two walks, to go along with one RBI and one run scored, while reaching base four times in a 4-3 10-inning win over Brandeis. In the bottom of the 10th, the junior tallied the game-winning RBI single to center with two outs … Senior Peyton Rose (Needham, Mass.) struck out the side in the top of the seventh in the 4-3 victory over Brandeis.
