Amherst won its second consecutive NESCAC title and seventh in program history with a 1-0 victory over Colby in the championship game. With the win, the Mammoths grabbed the NESCAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will host the College of Saint Benedict in the first round at Orr Rink.

Amherst (19-2-6) is ranked third in the country in the latest USCHO.com poll. The Mammoths are making their 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Amherst advanced to the national championship game twice in the last three seasons, including last year.

Saint Benedict (16-7-4), which is receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll, earned an NCAA automatic berth after winning the MIAC Championship. It was the Bennies’ first title in program history, and they are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Williams (17-4-5), the No. 9-ranked team in the country in the USCHO.com Poll, was a NESCAC Semifinalist, falling to eventual champion Amherst, and had an NPI ranking No. 8. The Ephs were one of the last teams in the tournament field via an at-large selection. Williams will host familiar foe and No. 11-ranked Plattsburgh State in the first round at Lansing Chapman Rink.

Williams is making its fourth NCAA appearance and first since the 2018-19 season, the same year the Ephs and Cardinals last met in the NCAA Tournament.

Plattsburgh State (20-6-1) won the SUNYAC title to extend its unbeaten streak to 11 games. The Cardinals are making their 20th NCAA appearance. Plattsburgh State has won seven NCAA trophies in team history, the last coming in 2019.

The Cardinals are a familiar foe for the Ephs, as the teams have met at least once in each of the last five seasons, including earlier this season, with Williams earning a 2-1 win in Plattsburgh.
