NESCAC Boasts Six Olympians at 2026 Milan Cortina Games

There will be six current or former students from the NESCAC, representing six countries, are set to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics Games in Milan Cortina. The Opening Ceremonies are slated for Friday, February 6.

Nikhil Alleyne, a sophomore at Middlebury College, but not a member of the Panther Ski Team, is the first men's alpine skier to qualify for the Olympics for Trinidad & Tabago. Alleyne is one of seven athletes competing for the country and will be a flagbearer at Opening Ceremonies. Alleyne will compete in the Giant Slalom and Slalom events.

Rei Halloran, a 2023 Wesleyan graduate, was selected as a goalie for the Japanese Women's Ice Hockey Team. Serving as a starting goaltender for a large tenure of her Cardinal career, Halloran finished her time at Wesleyan with 25 wins. Through 66 games played, Halloran made 1,754 saves, returning a .924 save percentage with 2.20 goals against average. Team Japan's 2026 qualification will mark the fifth straight appearance at the Winter Games for women's ice hockey. Japan finished in sixth place both in 2018 and 2022.

Colby College's Maddie Hooker (Class of 2027) will compete in the women's cross country races as a member of Team Australia and is making her first Olympic appearance. Click here to read more about Hooker courtesy of Abigail Curtis of the Colby Communications Office.

Also competing in the women's ice hockey Olympic tournament is Trinity's Marta Mazzocchi (Class of 2028). In her two seasons with the Bantams, Mazzocchi has tallied 30 points with 14 goals, including three powerplay goals and two game-winning goals, and 16 assists with a +10 plus/minus rating. Mazzocchi owns a. 533 win percentage (204/383) in the faceoff circle with 28 blocked shots.

Middlebury alum Ali Nullmeyer (Class of 2024) is making her second Olympic appearance as an apline skier for Team Canada. Nullmeyer finished 21st in the women's slalom race in Beijing in 2022. The Toronto, Ontario native has competed in eight World Cup events during the 2025-26 competitive season. Her best finish came on March 27, 2025 with a ninth-place result in Sun Valley, Idaho. Nullmeyer suited up in the Panther uniform for three seasons. In 2020, the Panther was named the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) Rookie of the Year and a First-Team All-East selection. She also earned All-American honors in the slalom at the NCAA Skiing Championships, finishing sixth.

Former Middlebury women's golfer Chloe Levins (Class of 2020) is an alternate for the Team USA Biathlon squad. A two-time U.S National Champion, Levins was the second alternate for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. Levins was a member of the Middlebury Women's Golf team during her collegiate career and was the NESCAC Player of the Year as a junior (2018-19 season). Levins also serves as an assistant coach for the Panthers who won their first NESCAC Women's Golf title last season.
